Just in time for the lunchtime game.

The mighty Norwich City against West Ham. West Ham havn't beaten Norwich at Carrow Road in the league for over 40 years. Now thats an unbeaton run.

With no Carrol the Hammers are a bit light up front and the defense will get a workout with the likes of Holt, Jackson and Morrison. But Allidyce teams are always hard to beat.

Come on you yellows!

2012-09-15 08:11:16 AM
Tough game for Norwich this morning. West Ham will fight to the final whistle.

/why am I awake again?

Shooting practice for Norwich there. West Ham defending rather poor, Holt's going to net one at this rate.

2012-09-15 08:16:10 AM
Holy crap how did the ball not go into the net. That was six shots one after the other.

Don't you love it when you find things you bookmarked things weeks ago and meant to post them the following Saturday, but never did?

The Nicklas Bendtner Failure Compendium

A brilliant goal and amazing assist from 1993

And from here:

Sunday 13 May 2012. Manchester United are winning 1-0 at Sunderland. Wayne Rooney has scored the goal that has put them on the verge of the Premier League title and, in a corner of the Stadium of Light, a small army of construction staff is already in position, waiting to assemble the stage for the presentation of the trophy.

Sir Dave Richards, the Premier League's chairman, leaves his seat just as the game is going into stoppage time. It will be his job to hand over the medals, so he makes his way to the end of his row and through the VIP area to the back of the stand, then heads for the lifts that will take him down to pitch-level.

What he does not know, on his way down, is that something remarkable is taking place 140 miles away in Manchester. The kind of rare euphoria that makes you feel almost sympathy for those people who just don't "get" football. A few minutes earlier, fans were leaving in tears.

Manchester City were losing 2-1 to QPR and on the brink of blowing it. Typical City, and all that. Now there are bodies all over the pitch, sobbing very different tears.

The Premier League has just witnessed its most remarkable, brutal, exhilarating finale ever and, flashing his accreditation to get into the tunnel, Richards is about to re-affirm his place as the slightly embarrassing uncle of English football. An official in a Manchester United blazer is standing by the dressing-room door, wearing a look of blank horror. Martin Tyler, with one long, impassioned, throaty "Agüero," has just provided the soundtrack to City's summer. It's all over. Sir Alex Ferguson's team have lost the title, with the last kick of the last match.

Richards bounds over, arms spread.

"Well done. Well bloody done! Congratulations, many congratulations. Fantastic."

689908: Don't you love it when you find things you bookmarked things weeks ago and meant to post them the following Saturday, but never did?

The Nicklas Bendtner Failure Compendium

Oh my god, that's brilliant. I've seen Bendtner make some decent goals, yet somehow he's MUCH better in his mind than what everyone else sees, which is a decent striker at best. He misses a lot of sitters and never works as hard as he should. If he worked harder, I think he could jump a level, but has anybody ever seen him busting his ass? Imagine if he was as active and mobile and streaking as RvP. Maybe THEN he'd be a top shelf striker. He won't, though. It's a shame; he's got good feet when he's focused.

2012-09-15 09:36:00 AM
Damn shame, Norwich. You should have won this one.

2012-09-15 09:42:53 AM
Already have one match incorrect. Yay me!

2012-09-15 09:52:25 AM
400th appearance for Rio.

700th appearance for Scholes.

600th Premier League appearance for Giggs.

500th home league match for Sir Alex.

2012-09-15 09:54:08 AM
Which game is everyone watching? I'm going to have the United game on.

2012-09-15 09:55:00 AM
So Phoenix got a pro (UCL) soccer team called Phoenix FC. The real shame is we're called the wolves for no good reason and our logo looks like something an AYSO team would have.

2012-09-15 09:55:46 AM
That was a very Allardyce performance from West Ham. Very organised away from home and happy to pick up one point.

IF only we could of got that late goal.

Breaking news Anton Ferdinand didn't shake hands with Terry and Cole. Can't say i blame him.

Stimied in a Rut: Already have one match incorrect. Yay me!

Same here. I thought West Ham might steal a game at the Canaries.

2012-09-15 09:58:46 AM
Norwich 1 - 1 West Ham
Aston Villa 0 - 2 Swansea
Fulham 1 - 1 West Brom
Man Utd 2 - 0 Wigan (Banker)
QPR 0 - 3 Chelsea (probably should have been my banker)
Stoke 1 - 2 Man City
Sunderland 1 - 1 Liverpool (Insurance)
Reading 0 - 1 Spurs
Everton 2 - 1 Newcastle (farking Geordies have been screwing me over every week)

2012-09-15 09:58:50 AM
Anton said he'd duck them both and he did. No surprise there.

So Handshakegate 1 is done. Now to see what happens next week for Handshakegate 2.

2012-09-15 09:59:32 AM
What I's Ferdinand's beef with Cole?

2012-09-15 09:59:34 AM

Wrong Ferdinand. Cole was a character witness for Terry and supported him publicly.

Rio Ferdinand (the uncle i think) replied to a tweet from some one else calling Ashley Cole a choc ice (black on the outside white in the middle) saying it was funny.

Horrible, peno.

Right you are. I knew it was Rio that re-tweeted the choc-ice quote, I just automatically thought "Rio" when I heard "Ferdinand". That they weren't playing each other didn't even occur to me!

Has the bbc text feed got it right? Stoke up 1-0?

2012-09-15 10:28:10 AM
Welbeck is having a good game so far other than the "dive". Just has to get that ball in the net now.

2012-09-15 10:28:21 AM

HaywoodJablonski: Norfolking Chance: Has the bbc text feed got it right? Stoke up 1-0?

Seems to be. Crouch with the goal

I've got that game as a 1-1 with the insurance as a punt with Agruro out. Maybe my best guess of the week.

2012-09-15 10:31:34 AM
Holy shiat what a kick from Podolski. NICE

Cripes. 4-0. Another goal off defender.

They can't relegate a team mid-game can they?

Nothing to report from london, Chelsea QPR level at nil

2012-09-15 11:04:16 AM
I missed the start of the game and Welbeck's dive, but he really needs to cut it out. Did it midweek for England, too. There's a middle ground between not going down when you are fouled and going down when you're not fouled. Find it.

He's been the best player so far though. Which isn't saying much.

2012-09-15 11:06:22 AM
Oh, and my predictions are all sorts of awful so far.

2012-09-15 11:12:15 AM
United get the break through via Paul Scholes.

expobill: Nothing to report from london, Chelsea QPR level at nil

I'm surprised by that. Chelsea looks like a beast this year.

2012-09-15 11:18:14 AM
Hazard has been locked, chelsea is not controlling the match, QPR has had the better scoring chances in the 2nd half

Chicharito makes it two from new signing Buttner. Terrible peno in the first half, but great finish in the second. I do have to say that Buttner has been extremely impressive, a great signing.

2012-09-15 11:26:07 AM
Buttner scores on an amazing run and United are up 3! He needs to start every game, I love this guy. It should have never gone in, but dammit it counts the same.

2012-09-15 11:29:31 AM
Com on City, score one so I can get my multiplier!

Welp, Southampton are going down. Even Gervinho's scoring braces.

2012-09-15 11:42:44 AM
Yessssss, Powell scores on his debut and United is up 4.

QPR's Cisse may be the silliest looking man I've ever seen.

Well done Gunners.

2012-09-15 11:52:20 AM
I am going to be in the negative points again this week, but if it means Chelsea and City drop points, I won't be too upset.

2012-09-15 11:53:57 AM
Bleh I could have done ok with my picks this week if not for a a late goal or 2

2012-09-15 11:57:33 AM
RVP, Kagawa, Buttner and Powell all scored on their home debuts.

Welbeck was great. Buttner was good. Powell looked lively. Nani was spectacularly bad.

2012-09-15 12:00:01 PM
I wonder if Southampton will report the rape.

2012-09-15 12:01:59 PM
Well, my picks have sucked balls this week. Happy for a comfortable win for Arsenal. We haven't had enough of those the last few years. In fact, last year you could be sure they'd drop points to crappy teams. They look miles better in that respect.

2012-09-15 12:05:43 PM
Missing the games this weekend due to being out of town.
Maybe me being away from the tv will actually help my picks :)

So I overslept and missed the handshake that wasn't, I see that I've only had 2 winners correct so far today and 0 perfect. Yep, this farkin' blows.

And I've called for a 1-1 draw for the Liverpool match. Please let me be wrong there!

2012-09-15 12:11:43 PM
Damn, overslept utterly. Time to see if any of my predictions came through.

2012-09-15 12:13:53 PM
Two winners and a perfect score from the Stoke City game should keep my head above water.

It's flat out ugly. And the less said about that third kit that they somehow shipped in from Troy Lee circa 1991 the better.

So is this how it's going to go? Lose, then draw, then lose, then draw? Next week is going to suck.

At least I got chicken and beer.

Next week is a must win and not just because it's Man U.

I have to admit, it's disturbing to see Pool in the relegation zone. The fans deserve better.

desertgeek: So I overslept and missed the handshake that wasn't, I see that I've only had 2 winners correct so far today and 0 perfect. Yep, this farkin' blows.

And I've called for a 1-1 draw for the Liverpool match. Please let me be wrong there!

Wizard!

Ditto. Altogether though I didn't do too bad today.

Well it's about time I started shouting boing! boing! on Fark as we Baggies seem to be very few and far between!
Just a pity we crapped this one out, but at least we did it to one of the few teams I really respect in the EPL

Well done FFC, might have been a different result if not for PO's brain fart

Not too many (in fact, you're the only one I've seen in these threads), but welcome to them regardless. If I had to figure out a ratio based on posting I'd say it's 30% Arsenal fans, 30% Liverpool fans, 20% Manchester United fans and the last 10% assorted other EPL teams.

In other news, Messi and Villa put in 3 in the last 16 minutes off the bench and Real loses to Sevilla.

I would say as many Spurs fans as ManU fans, but they seem to be AWOL at the moment.

It's nice to see another supporter of one of the smaller teams round here. At the moment I think we have one of every team in the EPL apart from Southampton and Sunderland.

Come on you Spurs! Hoping they can get 3 points here and start righting the ship in the season.

Thanks as always!

My prediction for this match: Reading 1-2 Tottenham

I'm still waiting for AVB to get his feet under him, I think it will begin with this match.

2012-09-16 11:19:20 AM
That was a beautiful goal, Spurs.

2012-09-16 11:20:41 AM
Textbook goal by Spurs.

2012-09-16 11:31:54 AM
Spurs dominating in possession.

How was that not a 2nd goal?

2012-09-16 11:32:15 AM
Hoping Spurs can get 2 so we don't have a repeat of the west brom and norwich matches. And I can't believe they didn't score there.

2012-09-16 11:38:54 AM
Defoe is just carving up that defense

2012-09-16 12:29:30 PM
BALE!

2012-09-16 12:30:10 PM
He shanked it right into the net! Now put in Dempsey.

2012-09-16 12:35:01 PM
That whizzing sound you heard was not the spinning ball contacting the net, it was the spines being forcefully pulled out of the Reading players.

Through their mouths.

Daddy and baby girl were extremely happy at the result on Saturday, and the potential of the new kids.

^Congrats man. She kinda looks like the Siva twins, lol.

The prediction league has got me rooting for teams I can't stand as well as screaming for my boys to ease up a little. You wait ages for won and then 8 come along in 2 games.

Also, some of you could've made so much money if you put on an accumulator......

Congrats Tonnage! I can't believe the second Everton goal was disallowed for offsides. Great game so far and a 2-1 Everton wins puts me in the positives. Won't lose any more points for it though. Come on Everton!

2012-09-17 04:40:08 PM
Once again my score is screwed by a poor decision by the ref. Should be 2-1 for sure there. Gah!

2012-09-17 04:42:31 PM
Skipped out of work early to watch the second half and I have not been let down. Very lucky to still be tied here but good to see us attacking and playing for the win.

2012-09-17 04:49:10 PM
Damn nice finish by anichebe. We didn't really deserve points here anyways

Gotta love scoring 3 times to get 1 goal to count haha. It has been an amazingly entertaining match.

2012-09-17 04:51:07 PM
Wow, I cannot believe that just happened. Now I feel bad for Everton having 2 goals incorrectly disallowed.

2012-09-17 04:53:27 PM
And a collect call from Pardew to the bench to put the notorious b.i.g. in. And gabby overran apparently refusing to come on. Weird game here.

2012-09-17 04:54:10 PM
Wow this Everton Newcastle match

2012-09-17 04:56:26 PM
Great match, but Everton deserved 3 points from it.

Congratulations! Cute kid, bro!

Thank you Demba Ba for saving my predictions this week.

2012-09-17 04:59:37 PM
Everton score 4, draw 2-2.

2012-09-17 05:08:03 PM
I didn't even know it at the time, but that second Ba goal cost me 40 points. But I'm still +50 for the week, and +20 overall.

I'm about to submit next week's predictions. I'll have forgotten most of them by the weekend, so I can just enjoy the games for what they are, not how many points I'm losing. It works for me.

2012-09-17 06:30:32 PM
I was at -20 before the match and will be at -20 after because of the lock icon. Really pissed because a 2-1 win would have netted me 30 points and pushed me into the positives.

2012-09-17 06:40:38 PM
First, Tonnage; congrats despite you trying to raise her as a Man Utd fan.

Second, somehow I'm getting +25 in the predictions for this week. I only called 4 correct this week: Arsenal win, Man Utd win (banker, but missed the margin), the Liverpool draw (nailed the scoreline) and Spurs winning by 2.

It's almost not fair.

2012-09-17 06:49:34 PM
I just watched this Everton game off my DVR since I was work...

As an Everton fan.. That was unfortunate. But good game Newcastle, and fair play to Stephen Harper.

2012-09-18 03:40:47 AM
I had that game as 2-2 and then changed it 2-1 to Newcastle with the bankers chip. But I accidently used my insurance.

Yes, I have no idea what the fark I'm doing.

2012-09-18 04:41:27 AM
And I'm back from Rome.

Next week is looking like a tough week for predictions. Lots of balanced games. Can I protect my precious 15pt BB? Kudos to Nathanjr who sets a new week-record of 230 points. That might stand until the end of the season. Can he do it again though?

desertgeek: First, Tonnage; congrats despite you trying to raise her as a Man Utd fan.

Do not fret, I'm quite sure some time in her teens, she will become rebellious, start hanging out with the wrong group of friends, and come home with a liverpool shirt, dating a city fan.

/"How do you like THAT dad!??! Tell me to clean my room! Well now I've got Shankly's gate on my wall" - Biggest nightmare ever. That, and if she dates an investment banker.
