They are really in a panic over the public polling on national security and foreign policy. Obama is eating their lunch and they are powerless to stop it.

When it comes to writing they say you should write about what you know. Clearly the submeister chose to ignore that advice when deciding to bring up intelligence.

If the man can order the raid that killed Osama bin Laden while also punking Donald Trump at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, I think he can handle observing the situation in the Middle East while doing what every politician has to: raise money and campaigning.

If only we had public financing of campaigns, politicians just might not have to spend so much time raising cash.

The man can multitask, and it's not like he has to do everything personally. He has people he delegates tasks to, all he needs to do is give the yes or no to their plans/actions. That's how being president works.

It's almost as if a president has to be able to do more than one thing at a time. That would be such a great zinger, I wonder if the Obama campaign will pick up on it?

Beyonce wrote me an e-mail inviting me to this shindig, offered to pay my airfare and eveything. It caught my eye because the Subject line said "I don't normally e-mail you" and she used my first name in the greeting. Suprised the hell out of me, I didn't even know I KNEW Beyonce, much less that she obviously had a crush on me

Antimatter: The man can multitask, and it's not like he has to do everything personally. He has people he delegates tasks to, all he needs to do is give the yes or no to their plans/actions. That's how being president works.

You can delegate tasks, and make decisions based on others' recommendations, sure. But part of going to the meeting is to be informed of the relevant facts and ramifications of one's decisions. You can't delegate to someone else your own awareness of the relevant facts and ramifications, hence, it's important to go to meetings. That is, unless it's totally cool to make arbitrary decisions about stuff.

This isn't intended to be controversial, or politically charged in anyway. I take it to be close to a truism: want to make good decisions about stuff, become aware of the relevant facts, do what you need to do to become aware of those facts.

An analogy: One can read a few 3 to 4 page book reviews about some important text, or one can read the entire thing for one self and come to one's own judgment about the merits of the book, it's arguments, it's content, etc. If it's important enough to you, you'll read the book, and take others' reading of the book into consideration, but you will not necessarily take their reading as better than your own. If you didn't read the book at all, you only have others' opinions to go on. You might be lead astray; they might have suck readings. How will you know? Hence, it's good -- if it's about something important to you or related to some duty you have, say, performing your job well -- then you should read the darn book.

Similarly, a President -- any President -- ought not just 'read the abstracts', but rather 'read the papers and books' and then make an informed decision.

I mean, a Prof is gonna think their student just doesn't care about the book, or the class, or their education, all that much if they don't do the research but do other stuff.

So, yeah.

Meh. The middle east is melting down on his watch. In another month the general population will catch on to that fact. Remember he said that because he grew up in a muslim country and some of his relatives are Muslim this wouldn't happen.

Obama plays Starcraft. It's where he got the idea to start taking out people via attack drones. He's a master scholar of the strategy behind the Protoss Carrier.

I'll ask again: How is a handful of embassy attacks as an overblown and crazy retaliation for some movie "the middle east falling apart," when Obama has had far fewer embassy and consulate attacks during his administration than Bush did? And started fewer wars? And ended more wars? And basically even though the region is a shiathole, it's not nearly the shiathole it was when Bush was in office, and you can't exactly fix it?

Agreed. Key word, perhaps, being "relevant"? When one is leader of the free world, one has a responsibility to decide what is relevant.

And when one is NOT leader of the free world but still chooses to use "one" as a third person pronoun, one should still know when "it's" should have an apostrophe and when it should not.

Honest question: What could Obama have done to prevent this? What could have have done to prevent the attacks at all? What can he do now to defuse the situation?

What do you want him to do besides lose, so your team can win?

Did he observe the video of our dead diplomat?
As commander in chief did he observe how frustrated our troops were because they weren't allowed to have live ammo...yet we are happy to send live ammo to the cartels so they can kill our agents?

Observer in chief. I like that
