It's decent enough ink. That's all that can really be said about it.

Needs steampunk.

OH WAIT.

We appear to have reached wacky imagery saturation.

Why would he bother wrestling it when he has a death ray at his disposal.

I love the idea, the execution is all right, but definitely not "the best". Going through the artist's portfolio, it looks like he mostly does flash work, which is fine, but his skill isn't spectacular when it comes to original art. It's noticeable most on Tesla himself, as I can see how it's going to fade pretty badly over time. The kraken is nice, and is clearly newer than Tesla, with the freshest is the feathers(?) at the top. Overall it's mediocre at best.

that's some crappy artwork, and to have it on your arm until you die...

this is why I never got a tattoo. I wanted one back in the day, but never could trust that kind of tatto artist I would end up with.

I suppose its ok if you were going to the 60's comic book look.

Timely post since Monty Python's Terry Gilliam just twitted this,

Three things about Tesla that always blows my mind:

1-He practically invented WiFi and supposedly a death ray
2-He had an eidetic memory
3-He spent his whole life celibate

could nick baxter, mike devries, tanane whitfield or aitchison do better? hell ya. is this still a strong showing from a no-name artist? absolutely

thats why you search for an artist till you find one that has a style you like.

black work is a little undersaturated, but not going to destroy the piece. worst case, that'll need a touch up in a few years. everything else looks solid and is a good blend of american and japanese traditional tattoo art

/only thing i'm conflicted about is, however awesome Tesla is (and a personal hero) Edison did invent the first electric tattoo machine
//nothing against the tattoo
///those personal and professional mixed feels

Tesla was one of the most brilliant of minds.

What does it say that he was outwitted by a farking banker.

the same thing it's said when you end a question with a period.

sometimes the little things just get the better of us, even when we should know better.

Well, you started those sentences without capital letters, but I'll overlook that because I like the sentiment. And I like the context of placing my failure alongside Tesla's.

If I could have looked at the tattoo and, without assistance or hinting, been able to say that it was Nikola Tesla and a Kraken then it would have been awesome. That was just a dude and a monster at best.
