Ryan's gonna have fun riding the alien ships in Area 51.

2012-09-14 08:22:50 AM
Too little, too late.

2012-09-14 08:23:08 AM
FTA: The Associated Press was first to report the intelligence briefings for the GOP ticket.

Umm, ok. That's random but if the AP needs their "boobies" then go for it.

2012-09-14 08:23:33 AM
Yep, I would have so much fun "breifing" those two idiots.

Oh, and you can't go in Area 51. We have Jesus locked up in there, and he expressly told us not to let you in.

2012-09-14 08:23:52 AM
Unfortunately, they'll never develop any actual intelligence.

2012-09-14 08:25:32 AM
We *can* show you a time machine, but w'ell have to go into a Wall Mart. You guys think you can handle that?

2012-09-14 08:27:29 AM
This is actually an explanation as to why Romney made an asshat of himself

But what does it say that it takes 2 weeks and one foreign policy crisis before the intelligence community decides to trust you with briefings?

If I were Obama's security team, I'd totally fark with them this way. "Yeah, Area 51 is real, but we didn't tell the blah guy. But you, we trust. By the way, better start minding your cornhole below basement level 37...they got that stereotype for a reason."

Reagan got one briefing prior to his election, in early October. Bush I was ex-CIA and vice president, so he just kept getting intel briefings continuously. Clinton's first brief was the 4th of September. Bush II got his on the 2nd of September.

It doesn't seem to say much except the briefings happen when they fit in the schedule.

Facts haven't prevented him from being an asshat thus far. I doubt these briefings will change a thing.

So, will they accidentally reveal classified information Monday or Tuesday?

he's been surrounded by neocons whispering in his ears for months now.
his instructors should take that into account and do some deprogramming first.

I wouldn't even trust those foolios with the intelligence on my morning b.o.

It'll be a fantastic new opportunity for Mitt to f@ck up. I look forward to it.

If anybody needs a brief on being intelligent it's....wait, you mean something else?

Is this where they discover that foreign policy is more than swagger and bluster?

// Prolly not.

This About That: Is this where they discover that foreign policy is more than swagger and bluster?

// Prolly not.

They'll probably come away with the notion that all the problems they were just briefed on could be solved with more swagger and bluster and step up their attacks on the imaginary Obama Apology Tour.

It's not going to help.

Little blue eyes and the Bot from another planet will mess it up somehow....

You can't gain intelligence that way.

Well, I would too if I wasn't rather sure that he'd blow some covert information during a debate or something.

He honestly does not seem like the kind of guy who would accept a gag order.

Talk about a waste of intelligence...

2012-09-14 10:58:41 AM
So how long until Ryan and Romney start leaking details from those meetings in a desperate attempt to make Obama look bad?

Can you imagine if the DOJ orders the arrest of one or both of them in the last days before the election for leaking national security secrets?

I think it would be a riot if they fed them false information and see how long it takes for Rush to start talking about it on his show

FTFA The GOP presidential nominee has not been getting any inside information from the intelligence community and has been relying on the advice of his George Bush Jr's former foreign policy team.

I don't see how this will change the likelihood of Romney missing the point and shoving his foot calf-deep down his own throat.

Gentlemen... The Presidential Race is a fraud. The real power behind the United States of America is the La Li Lu Le Lo.

2012-09-14 11:34:37 AM
But when will Obama start getting them?

2012-09-14 11:36:09 AM
Romney came under fire from Obama and Democrats for his critical response to the deadly attacks this week at the U.S. embassies in Libya and Egypt.

He came under fire from a lot of Republicans, too. Very few people thought his response was in any way, shape, or form appropriate for someone trying to be President of the United States.

GAT_00: So, will they accidentally reveal classified information Monday or Tuesday?

I'm wondering what the odds are that Mitt will use the information in the briefings to deliberately cause an incident.

Of course, he could go stupid and hold a press conference claiming "I just got an intel briefing saying that North Koreans may be developing a nuclear tipped missile launched from a converted container ship. Why hasn't he bombed them yet?"

2012-09-14 11:37:34 AM
FTA: It is a tradition for the major-party presidential candidates to receive these briefings once their nominating conventions are complete.

It's also tradition for candidates to release 10 years of tax returns.

2012-09-14 11:37:34 AM
I'm okay with this until the almost inevitable moment one of them lets something slip while trying to score points.

2012-09-14 11:38:38 AM
Well, looks like the Corporate Overlords have decided on a new President.

2012-09-14 11:38:41 AM
It's traditional that they do this? So they've always done it?

So Bush started getting intelligence briefings in September of 2000? He had a full year of them?

Do you honestly find that unlikely?

2012-09-14 11:39:15 AM
Of course, these are the same sort of briefings that Obama has been skipping lately so he can go on talk shows and campaign trips. Part of the reason his whole Mideast plan fell apart so dramatically.

Hey, Obama - maybe this wouldn't be such a surprise for you if you'd show up and do your friggin' homework...

Of course Romney's "gaffe" on this was to say what the White House said - but 16 hours earlier, and before things really went to hell.

Slives:

The DOJ is too busy chasing down a filmmaker who hasn't actually committed any crimes other than annoying Muslims in another country.

Did anyone yet say, "Good, they need some intelligence!"?

Inciting to violence 'is' a crime.
Damned hard to prove, of course, but still illegal.

Yeah, like I believe that.

You know what would be really funny, if Romney blurted out some classified top secret intelligence during a press conference. Something that got his ass arrested and imprisoned for treason. That would just be the most awesome end to this douche bag.

He probably knows most of what's in there already. I doubt his advisors have been out of touch for the last 4 years.

But what if he is black, and I am closely related in three distinct ways to my uncle and several of my first cousins? Can I still shop at the Dollar Store?
