Even though that's what he means when he says that, they'd still probably have to keep him off of the air.

Agreed. I was waiting patiently for updates on Lawler, yet at the same time thinking "Hey...I like this. No commentary rocks!". As long as someone is on top of the 7-second delay button, it would work.

Agreed. I was waiting patiently for updates on Lawler, yet at the same time thinking "Hey...I like this. No commentary rocks!". As long as someone is on top of the 7-second delay button, it would work.

Good commentary makes the show. Bad commentary ruins it.

It's weird that they didn't know/reveal this news sooner. I have it on very good authority that they only took one CT head scan and it was on the same day he was admitted to the hospital. I was already aware that there was no brain damage by Tuesday morning, yet they didn't release that information until much, much later. I wonder if it was just because they wanted his heart and breathing to stabilize completely before telling the family.

Whoever the authority who told you that is a dickhead, and if he was looking in records not related to their department I hope will get busted for that bullshiat.

Also, CT scans can look normal and it would not mean that brain damage had not occured, and MRI would be better to look at the soft tissue. Brain damage would be verified with not just the imaging but also with basic neurologic testing, and asking him questions over time to determine if any memory loss of cognitive loss had occured.

Cole/Miz was, and I hate to sound clichéd, AWESOME! I'm not a Miz fan by any stretch of the imagination, but he OWNED on commentary, especially during the hug it out segment.

Also, I think that #shutupcole can now be retired. Talk about grace under pressure! How many people do you know could still go on like nothing has happened when the man sitting next to you gets into an unexpected match with the Grim Reaper?

Also, the first thing I thought of when I first saw the news was the following exchange:

I used to agree that Cole was terrible and his schtick was horrible and worn out. But, I think there was a bit of a change around the end of the Laryngitis run, and he's not quite as bad; for me at least.

Also in Cole's favor with me: he can kayfabe an unrepentant, childish douche night in and night out, yet when shiat gets real, he's so torn up with concern over Lawler that he can't speak or continue. For me, that says a lot about Cole's skills and about him as a person.

Also, sign me up for the Cole/Edge announcing team. It's not like Edge's movie career is going to go anywhere.

I mean, listen to him. It was vanilla and it didn't throw the angle/storyline in our face, but it was still good and it got across the "weirdness" (Kane/Bryan interaction) at the end. It was just enough and it proved that the kid can actually do it every once in a while.

Also, the one thing that could change from this is they have an excuse to finally unheel Cole. People felt so bad for him last week that if he just went to play by play, it would definitely dial back the heel heat. We didn't think there'd ever be any chance of that.

King should return at "Survivor Series" just to show off

Actually, a spot in a traditional Survivor Series match might be perfect. It allows him the big surprise return and allows him to "participate" without being extrenuous. He can tag in, pull off a couple of moves, maybe get a "hot tag", and even get the win without having to put on a full match.

I have Smackdown on and Vince needs to raise the salary of the guy who just edited this Cena-Punk video. Watching it without fearing for Lawler's life, holy crap, Cena sold that story and was by far his best promo in a long time (minus the crowd baiting with YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME). The way they cut the video spot on tells the story they wanted
