That's great. More power to you. At least you're putting your money where your mouth is.

Good luck maintaining expensive storage facilities though. If the money dries up, you can't exactly keep these in your freezer at home. And of course, there are more embryos than can possibly be implanted. Seems to me at some point you're going to have a lot of expensive embryos that you can't do anything with.

To the extent that, I never understood being against using these "excess" embryos for stem cell research, since, they were otherwise being destroyed.... well, at least some of the people against it are putting their money where their mouth is on the issue. Have to give them that.

Maybe you guys can also adopt a few of the many actual living breathing children that need a home.

Yeah, I don't get the asinine tag. Every abortion thread on Fark is full of libtards suggesting exactly this. Now it's asinine because subby has to come up with a new talking point?

Sorry to reply twice, but it's almost as though you're concerned with real life than ideological purity.

I can't find the keys to this thread 'cos I'm drunk, but if someone wants to fish them out of my pants that will be okay. Be sure to get the deadbolt on your way out. It's the one with the yellow rubber around it, because I support our troops, or something.

Yup. Too bad these people don't give a shiat about the 100,000+ children currently available for adoption in the U.S.

Hard to tell and I'm no expert but it sounds more like they're just bringing to term individual embryos and "adopting" the babies and using federal funds to do so. Doesn't sound all that altruistic to me.

I'm gonna start selling little tampon coffins to young pro-life couples. Could be a fertilized egg in there ya know.

And you care so deeply, I'm sure you'll step right up and adopt one, right? Or will you just demand other people do it to fit what you think they should be doing? I'm sure they appreciate you bringing that up on the internet so you can feel superior, though. Because, really, that's better than finding a home.

Nice try but you're never going to make heroes out of pro-lifers. They're the ones who feel superior in their misguided defense of clumps of cells. Much easier to imagine oneself a tireless champion of the innocent than actually deal with real problems in the real world.

And I continue to joyfully share my life with children not biologically my own w/o the benefit of your tax dollars so you can fnck right off.

Its called investing in market futures. Drive up the price now by buying excessive stock and then you have the ability to manipulate the market later when production slows down.

No, because 1) I don't want children, and 2) I'm not a fetus-worshipping hypocrite who is trying to force women to bear children against their will.

BTW, since you seem to be siding with the fetus worshippers, how many unwanted children have YOU adopted??

It will be funny when they get to Humane Society type constraints and they have to start putting down the unadoptable ones.

I love how the pro-abortion supporters use loaded language to strengthen their points.

Calling the embryos a "clump of cells" is disingenuous at best and willfully idiotic at worst.

You know you can be described as a "clump of cells" too, right?

Now, go read some basic logic/philosophy. Especially a chapter about the "man is a biped without feathers".

Blastocyst, no heartbeat, no brain activity. A clump of cells. Sacred life?

Yes, I'm sure the unimplanted embryo that has no brain, no central nervous system, maybe barely the slightest sort of hint of any structure whatsoever is a baby with a soul and feelings and is glad for your rescue.

Human life is precious from conception through birth. After that, they are guilty of original sin and therefore should be shunned

Sabyen91: Blastocyst, no heartbeat, no brain activity. A clump of cells. Sacred life?

Sacred? Not by any non-existent divinity.

Do you define "human life" strictly as the moment the baby comes out of the vagina?

Or do you define it by the period within 24-36 weeks of pregnancy?

12-24?

I think 0-12 weeks doesn't qualify. Also, abortion shouldn't be glorified anyway. It's not a fashion statement.
12-24 is debatable.

If I punch a pregnant woman and make her abort, am I charged with homicide or just assault?

Are you now negotiating a time when an abortion is ok? Are you telling me that a blastocyst is different than a viable fetus? I didn't expect such rationality out of you.

As somebody with two embryos currently on ice, I'm glad that the wife and I directed to have them destroyed in the event we both died. I want to interview any recipient before I hand them over. The last thing I want is for my offspring to be raised by religious fanatics.

What are you even talking about? Are you arguing with yourself?

And seriously? Religion is mentioned because the thread is about evangelicals and abortion. And I don't need to be "through this" before. It's the INTERNET dude. People making assumption and being unnecessarily confrontational is the norm. Y'know, like you just did.

I attacked you by saying there is no such thing as pro-abortion?

So I imagined the "fark off!"?

Also, funny, another person just told YOU that they are pro-abortion, so....there's obviously such thing.
