Some bored staffer at the AP copy desk saw this picture of a dog by a cemetery and concocted this "tail."

"He turned up here one day, all on his own, and started wandering all around the cemetery until he eventually found the tomb of his master,"

Man, I truly love dogs more than nearly every human I know, but this article reeks of the same scent his decomposing(ed) owner had. That the family was quoted as having never shown the pooch the location is on par with a psychic having no cues.

Finally, I truly hate the word "master." My dog is my best friend, and we have some Alpha sh*t worked out in case boundaries are broken. He does his thing and I do mine, like roommates who get along really well. Dude never even drinks my beer.

I've seen that episode the same 400,983 times most Farkers have, and it still kills me.

Go adopt a mutt, folks.

I dislike that song, mainly due to misplaced emphasis on syllables of "Serengeti."

And now I'm awake at 2am crying over Wikipedia stories about dogs.

I'm not sure, but I think that's worse than just being awake at 2am on Fark.

"During the day he sometimes has a walk around the cemetery, but always rushes back to the grave. And every day, at six o'clock sharp, he lies down on top of the grave, stays there all night."

Fark you for lying in the context of your loved one's death.

Awe-inspiring. Maybe I should have gotten a dog instead of taking in the stray abandoned kitten who's now a 4-year old cat.
He's since been joined by three outdoor-exclusive cats who lie around so much (when they're not begging to be fed) that I now refer to said trio as "my ornamental mammals."

Yeah nothing like the old episodes with the Al Gore Action Rangers, Evil Nixon, complaints about Global Warming, (Kid)Nappster, and all around topical-ness.

nothing has changed.

Man-Eating Pugs

Posted: Dec 17, 2009 11:29 AM EST Updated: Dec 17, 2009 11:34 AM EST

PAPILLION, NE (NBC) - Two tiny dogs are up for adoption after eating their owner.

The pugs, Harry and Sally, spent two weeks in a Papillion, Nebraska home after their 51-year-old owner apparently died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police don't suspect foul play.

A neighbor noticed there were no tracks in the snow from the home and called police last week.

Officers found the man dead and determined that his pets had no dog food, forcing them to eat his corpse to survive.

The pugs were turned over to the Nebraska Humane Society.

When the father of my brother's 2 best friends (who was practically a foster father to him) died, their
boxer kept waiting at the window for weeks, just watching for him to come home.

Heartbreaking and uplifting all at the same time.

"During the day he sometimes has a walk around the cemetery, but always rushes back to the grave. And every day, at six o'clock sharp, he lies down on top of the grave, stays there all night."

I'm sure other families enjoy finding little crap piles on top of their loved one's graves.

/mods, that is a puppy playing in the snow, not a graphic image of a frozen puppy as you have so punished me for in the past.

I honestly think my cat would. When his brother died, I put his remains in a box to take to the vet the next day. My remaining cat would lay where I'd put the box that night, a place he'd never taken to sleeping. A year later, I still catch him looking inside boxes, something he hadn't had an interest in previously. He's still looking for his brother.

Dogs, cats, who cares. All pets are the best.

My cat is a rescued stray. She greets me at the door everytime I come in like she hasn't seen me in forever. This includes when I have been outside for 10 minutes going to the corner store or something. If I am on the sidewalk I can usually hear her meowing for me like crazy.

But I'm not entirely sure she would do something like this. But then again most dogs won't either.
