Are we going to have another week like the DNC where the GOP just completely loses their shiat, and the "liberal media" refuses to point out the fact that they are continuing to lie about objective, observable reality?

Damn, the derp on that site is STRONG.

Jackson Herring: Are we going to have another week like the DNC where the GOP just completely loses their shiat, and the "liberal media" refuses to point out the fact that they are continuing to lie about objective, observable reality?

Look, the Romney campaign isn't even trying to make this a close race. So the media needs to carry water for him so people will tune in.

Did they invent Romney smiling at the deaths of 4 Americans as he walked away from the podium as well?

Romney fumbled a potential crisis handed right to him. Its a rule, you do not comment while an event is still going on overseas. You wait, let the incumbent handle it, then you come forward with how you would have done better.

By sticking his big dumb nose in (and claiming what he's claiming, which was just incorrect) he's proving not only is he a "shoot first aim later" kind of guy, but that he's more than willing to cost american lives to score political points.

I bet the neocons love this guy more every minute.

2012-09-13 08:36:12 AM
Correction,Shill Klein: The media is focusing on the unfolding crises in North Africa AND Mittens' shockingly inept attempt at political gain. Get it right.

2012-09-13 08:36:26 AM
Umm... That wasn't invented. There is actually quite visible proof... again.

Look. I'm sorry Mittens is such a colossal imbecile. I really am. The GOP has gone so far off the rails into Batshiat Crazytown that a pandering, dishonest, evil prick like Romney actually looked like a decent and honorable candidate compared to the absolute nutters running against him. And, let's face it, compared to a group that included Santorum, Gingrich and Bachmann, this made it all-too easy for Romney make himself look like Mr. Rogers, and it made it REALLY easy for him to lie to you while the screeching insanity of his opponents was broadcast over his own mumbling.

Seriously. I feel really bad for you guys. This is not how an election should be, and you deserve a hell of a lot better. You've been sold an incredibly false bill of goods in Mitt Romney, and you have every right to be pissed off. But, directing your anger and rage toward Obama for the fact that you have this truly horrendous candidate in Romney is the wrong thing to do, and it will do nothing to help your party in the long run.

If you want a decent and honest candidate, stop supporting the vile and dishonest one you currently have. Obama is going to win in November. You have to accept that. What you don't have to accept is that you have to vote for Romney. Just don't vote for him. Send a message to the unraveling Republican party that you demand better than a candidate that you continually have to lie for and pretend to like.

How exactly did they "invent" Romney's gaffe. He did that all by himself.

He built that, dammit!

Mitt Romney smirked because people dying made Obama look bad. Mitt Romney was happy about that. Mitt Romney was happy about Americans dying because it makes him look good. He's a psychopath, you farking assholes. A PSYCHOPATH. AND YOU WANT TO VOTE FOR HIM. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! fark ALL OF YOU!

You deserve him. You deserve him and worse. Oh, how I wish I could take all the Republicans that live in this country and shunt them over to an alternate reality where their evil, ignorant hate reigns supreme. Show them, let them see the logical conclusions of their selfishness. (They still wouldn't really learn anything; my plan is to abandon them there.)

2012-09-13 08:46:28 AM
I am getting great amusement out of the number of people yelling and screaming about how Obama 'should have done better to prevent or handle' this crisis. But when pressed for details on what should have happened, nobody has an answer.

He's definitely scored points with the people who were going to vote for him anyway.

gaffe/gaf/
Noun:
An unintentional act or remark causing embarrassment to its originator; a blunder: "an unforgivable social gaffe".

I guess I just don't see what unintentional about trying and failing to smugly score political points on American bodies that aren't yet cold, and lying to do so.

2012-09-13 08:50:56 AM
There are conflicting reports as to whether this statement -- a reference to an online American-made film mocking Islam -- was issued before or after the assault on the embassy started.

Quit farking lying.

And the media fell into line.

The vast left wing media including prominent GOP members and long entrenched members of the RW media?

This guy is really bad at this.

i mean there's only so much you can do when defending the indefensible but for crying out loud running around with your fingers in your ears is no way to go through life, Klein.

But now, instead of scrutinizing Obama's handling of a foreign policy crisis, the media has decided that the real story in Egypt and Libya is a Mitt Romney gaffe.

No, the real story is still the death of the 4 Americans.

The questions of who really made that film and released it and translated it into Arabic and used that to whip up Islamic crowds into a violent frenzy allowing some AQ related group to take advantage of the chaos and pull off a murder spree on the anniversary of 9/11 and just prior to the US election are also worthy points of consideration.

Mitt Romney's massive and self evident FAIL here is just a side note.

I would say it's just a "human interest " story but ya know...

If there is anything that this election cycle has taught us, it's that journalists and pundits have no f*cking idea what the word "gaffe" means.

Seriously, this guy would be laughably bad if it wasn't really happening.

They could, but then Fox News and the New York Post and the Wall Street Journal and a whole bunch of other independent, totally not in collusion with one another and definitely not part of the propaganda arm of the GOP (but all mysteriously and coincidentally owned by NewsCorp, but please pay no attention to the man behind the curtain) would simultaneously and loudly accuse any media outlet which calls Romney out on his lies of having a liberal bias.

It's the reason why CNN is trying desperately to appeal to the very audience who would never watch CNN under any circumstances because Fox News told them that CNN is part of the "liberal" media -- they're trying their damnedest to "prove" they're NOT liberal.

I read an article a while back on why businessmen suck as politicians. Basically, politics is nothing like business. Instead of giving people orders you have to persuade, and businessmen are used to being in control and calling all the shots.

Not all of us. But it is interesting to see some FB "friends" that I knew as a wee lad who are now rabid right-wingers. They are completely "offended" by perceived accusations of racism. I often want to say to them, "Hey. I knew you growing up and you and your parents were racist farks. I think it's awesome you're no longer racist. When did you decide that being racist was wrong? What changed your attitude?".

The more I see of Romney the more I'm convinced that while he and the GOP have hired the usual cabal of evil geniuses to run the campaign, he just has that "No, *I* know best. I'm rich, you see?" attitude and goes off the reservation. I'm sure right now he's throwing staplers at the staffers for their "failure" to handle this properly.

Anyone who thinks this guy is anything more than a rich, out of touch, sociopath control freak is kidding themselves.

Exactly. Shoot, a guy with that much money can afford to make bad choices. He can afford them. He doesn't have the history of having to make consistently good choices that Obama does.
