Insatiable Jesus: First line of TFA:

Protesters angry over an obscure film critical of Islam's Prophet Muhammad stormed the U.S. Embassy in Sanaa, Yemen, on Thursday, as unrest that led to the deaths of a U.S. ambassador and three other Americans in Libya spread to other countries in the region.

Bullshiat. Bullshiat. Bullshiat.

The producer of this film turns out to not exist. The screening that so upset the Muslim world never happened. News organizations have yet to find any Muslim on the street who has seen it, most of those interviewed hadn't even heard of it.

This stinks to high heaven.

We are being used, yet again.

This whole situation sounds like a bad conspiracy theory movie. I'm talking the straight to video crap you buy in the dollar bin at Wal*Mart. Mix in high food prices and unemployment and you have a perfect storm that I think major players are trying to manipulate for power.

The US has had it's hand in there, but I wonder about Russia, China, and Saudi Arabia plans for the middle east are. I know that China has made major gains in Africa and Saudi Arabia funds conservative Mosques, I don't know about Russia as they head back into USSR 2.0.

Is it just me or are all the boogiemen from my childhood coming back?

doubled99: Muslims are no different than any other religion.
No, really.

really? i have religious viewpoints. i have not stormed a foreign countries. i have not decapitated anyone. i have not blown up buildings. i have not blown up myself in the hopes that i could take as many non-believers out with me as possible.

it would appear to me that your claims that there are no differences have little merit.

Sarcasm.

if true... 0/10 on the attempt.
but sorry, not buying the fact that you were being sarcastic for one second.

I really don't understand why.
I even threw in the "No, really" for slower folks like you.

It's just a quick, snarky comment, like most everything I ever post. I'm not sure what side you're on in this quasi-religous political pissing contest, but the people you want to debate with are elsewhere.

the "no, really" reads as: No, i am being serious, this is really what i believe".

This, however, was a deliberate attempt to show it to the Muslim world in order to piss them right the fark off.

Ok, all snark and cynism aside, here's the issue.

A lot of people this it's pretty straightforward: Bomb/Nuke these places. While bombings are -most likely- taking place right now, it has been shown that many of the drone strikes have not been very precise, or have been done by people who simply did not knew what the hell they were doing, it seems the better alternative that nukes. Why? Because of a high chance of chain reaction.

Let's put it this way: The US nukes Iran, Pakistan decides it wants to help their Iranian buddies or is afraid they'll be next so they nuke Israel and -for kicks- India. India retaliates with a nuke of his own. North Korea decides it's a mighty high time to show it has nukes and attacks South Korea; it misfires, and leads to Russia. Russia sends troops to NK and then nukes it. China's pissed so they nuke Russia to the ground and decided to take it. France doesn't like it and throws an angry worded letter that China responds with military force. France Nukes Chinese-occupied Russian bases, and we go on an on until we live in a postapocalyptic radioactive wasteland, The Reckoners appear, and we all turn into junkers, templars, pyskers and lawdogs.

I know it's all far-fetched, but, we live in a world where there's still people that think that Obama is a seekrit mooslim.

While we are talking conspiracy theories, isnt it interesting this film came out just before 9/11? Would it even be conceivable that a terrorist organization would create the film, knowing the unrest it would cause, to give it more opportunity for attacks under the guise of rioting and demonstrations? More difficult to hit an embassy or other targets when there a few hundred demonstrators arent standing around...

m2313: BullBearMS: whenever the UN's food price index, which measures the monthly change in the price of a basket of food commodities, climbs above 210, the conditions ripen for social unrest around the world.

(Said the researchers behind the study) "on December 13, 2010, we submitted a government report analyzing the repercussions of the global financial crises, and directly identifying the risk of social unrest and political instability due to food prices." Four days later, Mohamed Bouazizi set himself on fire as an act of protest in Tunisia.

Today, the food price index is hovering around 213, where it has stayed for months-just beyond the tip of the identified threshold.

Take a look at this as well.

Interesting. Thanks. I'd best keep the camper gassed up for a quick getaway. (Though, right now, food is not a problem even for homeless people.)

Here, have a large original:

[a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net image 850x212]

"For the last forty years, the United States has had two main Arab allies in the Middle East - Saudi Arabia and Egypt, the other ally in the Middle East being Israel. For the President to come out and say, well, he's not exactly sure if Egypt is an ally any more but it's not an enemy, that is a significant change in the perspective of Washington toward this country, the biggest country in the Arab world. It makes one wonder, well, was it worth it? Was it worth supporting the Arab Spring, supporting the demonstrations here in Tahrir Square, when now in Tahrir Square there are clashes going on behind me right in front of the US embassy?" ~Richard Engel, Senior Foreign Correspondent, MSNBC

Will that fit too?

Sm3agol85: Yes, the video was provocative. That is not illegal, killing people is illegal, even over there. There is only one group at fault here, and that is the rioters. If you can't deal with a random Youtube video without rioting, then you are a farking bunch of idiots deserving of zero respect. Pick literally anything on the planet and you can probably find a youtube video ridiculing it. If you find something that hasn't been ridiculed yet, let me know, and I'll make one myself.
