Asked why he did it, the report states, Barney told deputies, "while I was talking with Curtis, it looked like he was going to get froggy. That is the only way I can describe it."

I've heard a lot of really weird local expressions but seriously?

Ok, Urban Dictionary to the rescue:

1. froggy
To be jumpy or anxious to do something. Most commonly it refers to situations involving fighting or violence, but it can also refer to any situation involving someone anxiously wanting to do something.

I just read an article about Drew Peterson where someone was quoted as saying "some inmates will want to get froggy" with him (in jail).

What is it with the froggys lately? I've never heard this before, and now twice in one day.

It's a Southern expression, when you want the opponent to hit first
Usually goes like this:

"you look froggy, jump biatch"

The reply is

"you don't have a hair on your ass"

It's pretty common up here in Vermont too. It's usage is usually something like:

"Well asshole, if you feel froggy, why don't you just jump?"

That's not local, its redneck speak. The first time I heard it I was out in Missouri and I was trying to break a oncoming fight, I had to ask what he meant when he said "you feeling froggy? Let's jump...." I actually had to ask wtf he meant.

Guy attacks his neighbor's trailer with a cinder block after he borrowed some food without permission. When asked why, guy explains, "it looked like he was going to get froggy"

That is a mess of a sentence subby. You left off the punctuation and implied that the person who stole the food also tore apart a trailer, and you did it all in a headline. That's some fine work there, Lou.

"Curtis Leatherberry told deputies he grabbed a soda and a pastry from the house next door. It was an agreement he had with his neighbor. He didn't think there would be any trouble."
