I can forgive Subby, they're probably hung over or never learned to read, but the Daily Fail should at least TRY to get the story correct.

Whodat: Author apparently doesn't know the difference between a retouched photo and a painting referencing a photo or live model.

I believe Subby's use of the "airbrush treatment" is referring to the common practice of modifying images to thin models or otherwise alter their bodies into more stereotypically desirable forms, thus hiding the fact that even professional models don't look like the "ideal" and leading thousands of women into eating disorders. As such, the term may apply to paintings, photographs, digital images, etc.

Am I the only one who thinks the actual photos of the models, in a studio holding props, are infinitely sexier than the paintings that look like they belong on the nosecone of a WWII bomber? If I could have video of these photo sessions, with the models moving about and trying various poses, I'd swear off of Tumblr for at least a month.

Ya know, the side bar for TFA features a woman with size 102 ZZZ boobs, a follow-up on the America's Next Top Model story from yesterday, an interview with the "world's ugliest woman", a story about how non-Caucasian models are bleaching their skin to look like white girls, and an article called "10 Reasons I Wish I was a Lesbian" - and what gets the green light is this non-story where subby can't tell the difference between airbrushing a photograph and a painting based on a photograph.
