I'm game.

I'll report back with my findings

I'd hit it without the makeup.

If she stopped caking her face in that shiat for a few weeks and just gently cleaned it regularly the acne would probably go away.

So if I skimmed the article right, he skin is still bad, she just covers it.

So you go to bed with:

Me too. The way I see it, you can always mine that acne for some lube in a pinch.

I wish more women knew that my semen cures acne. And unless it's applied freshly dispensed, it loses it's pharmacological effect.

I keep trying to find a moral here - but I can't.

People make fun of a chick who doesn't conform to expectations of physical beauty.
Chick goes to great lengths (mostly artificial) to look pretty.
People think she is hot - so long as they don't know how she really looks?

So umm - if you are ugly and can't hide it - sucks to be you. But if you are lucky enough to be just the right kind of ugly - you can spend a lot of time every day (and a lot of money) so that you can look hot, for however many 'good years' you have before you turn old and wrinkly.

She's working with a dermatologist. I would think that if that was a concern, it would have been pointed out by now.

This isn't normal acne- this is cystic acne, which roots at a deeper level, and is nasty stuff.

She used to cover the acne, but from rtfa it says the problem has cleared up.

So... people make fun of girl, girl tries to fit in and help others, girls problem goes away, girl becomes model.

She is in a British newspaper as a fashion model not an American paper. She's British hot.

The first question any farker asks about a chick who appears in any articles: "Is she hot?"

If being "hot" weren't so important, then men wouldn't care so much about it and women wouldn't try so hard to be hot.

Yeah, thought you might say that. But she's been picked for the New York fashion week. That's in America. So she's American hot.

Now, if it was the York fashion week, it would be a complete Shambles (local joke).

Nope:
But now after conquering her skin condition with the help of a dermatologist, the 5ft 11in brunette's confidence has returned and she is set to hit the catwalk
...
Ms Bankson, who was diagnosed with cystic acne at 14. says her skin condition is about 70 per cent improved since she first hit the web.

aerojockey: I'd hit it without the makeup.

Me too. In fact I dated a girl in college who had some acne problems (not as much as this girl tho), but she was gorgeous.
Beauty is all about facial structure, things that are intrinsic to the person. I'm always so confused by people who can't look past make-up, or a couple of zits, or the ugly dress, or whatnot.

"AT SEVENTEEN"

By Janis Ian

I learned the truth at seventeen
That love was meant for beauty queens
And high school girls with clear skinned smiles
Who married young and then retired
The valentines I never knew
The Friday night charades of youth
Were spent on one more beautiful
At seventeen I learned the truth...

And those of us with ravaged faces
Lacking in the social graces
Desperately remained at home
Inventing lovers on the phone
Who called to say "come dance with me"
And murmured vague obscenities
It isn't all it seems at seventeen...

A brown eyed girl in hand me downs
Whose name I never could pronounce
Said: "Pity please the ones who serve
They only get what they deserve"
The rich relationed hometown queen
Marries into what she needs
With a guarantee of company
And haven for the elderly...

So remember those who win the game
Lose the love they sought to gain
In debitures of quality and dubious integrity
Their small-town eyes will gape at you
In dull surprise when payment due
Exceeds accounts received at seventeen...

To those of us who knew the pain
Of valentines that never came
And those whose names were never called
When choosing sides for basketball
It was long ago and far away
the world was younger than today
when dreams were all they gave for free
to ugly duckling girls like me...

We all play the game, and when we dare
We cheat ourselves at solitaire
Inventing lovers on the phone
Repenting other lives unknown
That call and say: "Come on, dance with me"
And murmur vague obscenities
At ugly girls like me, at seventeen...

Damn, I mean I have some acne even as an adult, but hers looked awful. And probably painful; I know mine is when it flares up, and I usually only have 5-10 active at a time. I for one am happy she was able to overcome it, thought I hope it wasn't the antibiotic route. Personally I'd rather deal with my mild problem than go that way, since I've heard it can be weird physiologically and frankly I'm against giving the germs a reason to mutate.

But still, I'm glad she got treatment. Modeling isn't what I'd choose as a career, but she's got the rare body type for it so why not.

FizixJunkee: If being "hot" weren't so important, then men wouldn't care so much about it

You've got it the wrong way around. Being hot is important because men care about it, and women want to appeal to men. After all, everyone wants to be loved, right?

The fact that men care about hotness, though, is a first principle. It's a given. It's an axiom. Men are visual creatures, we are attracted to certain things. We don't always agree on whats what, but whatever we like, we're more attracted to women who look that way. We can't help being visual creatures any more than women can help that hormones flood their bodies on a monthly basis. It's how we're built.

crabsno termites: Spend time with a fattie. She makes me laugh. More important, she makes me THINK.

Yeah I spend time with a girl like that, but she's not attractive, which is why we're friends.
The ones who are funny and smart and not fat, those are the ones I date.

2012-09-13 04:13:44 AM
A teenager who endured years of bullying over the severe acne marking her face has had the last laugh after being booked as a model at New York Fashion Week.

If you base your entire adult career on some people being dicks to you as a teenager, you haven't so much had the last laugh as, y'know, them winning so hard that they probably feel bad about it (being adults now).

Actually, it looks like she's more than a bit anorexic, so I bet they feel _really_ bad, assuming they feel responsible for it rather then going for "get over it", which to be fair is a reasonable emotional response too.
