"It's like the judge telling the woman who got raped, 'You asked for it because of the way you dressed.' OK? That's the same thing. 'Well America, you should be the ones to apologize, you should have known this would happen, you should have done - what I don't know - but it's your fault that it happened.' You know, for a member of our State Department to put out a statement like that, it had to be cleared by somebody. They don't just do that in the spur of the moment."

Well, at least he took the spotlight off of Mitt for a minute....

What is it that Republicans can't stop talking about rape?

2012-09-12 05:38:07 PM
But wait, Kyl only said rape once. Quick, someone get Todd Akin in here to clear this all up!

So in this installment of "Republicans Should be Legally Prohibited from Making Analogies," here is our cast of characters:

Embassy = Judge
Mob = Rapist
??? = Victim

Uh I don't get it.

Looks like the RomBot has muffed another golden opportunity. His little Zionist/Christofascist trolls started a mess he could have tried to blame on Obama - and now he's even f**ked that up.
The truth is that Romney is a worthless, born-rich parasite who has never accomplished a Goddamn thing in his life - a total parasite. His ineptitude would have him living in a trailer on welfare if he had been born at my level of society.

2012-09-12 05:47:22 PM
"It's like the judge telling the woman who got raped, 'You asked for it because of the way you dressed.' OK?

While I don't believe the case was a rape case, didn't this exact thing just happen in Arizona? And it was a judge appointed by Gov. Brewer, who was endorsed by Jon Kyl. So why's he complaining then?

2012-09-12 05:49:35 PM
I would love for Senator Kyl to be raped with the business end of a .50 cal after it has fired a couple hundred rounds.

Though, I suspect he might enjoy it.

2012-09-12 05:50:56 PM
So half the GOP can't stop talking about gay sex and the other half can't stop talking about rape? This news susprises me only in the fact that they seem to talk with bitterness and anger about everything, like they were actually impotent broke-dicks. Maybe rape and homosexuality are all they have to get those things going.

2012-09-12 05:52:14 PM
Jon Kyl. What a worthless piece of stinking garbage.

2012-09-12 05:52:53 PM
Whcih is ironic becuase in the middle east, that's exactly what they do tell a girl who's been raped.

Republicans should seriously consider striking the word "rape" from their vocabulary.

2012-09-12 05:57:04 PM
When did Obama apologize?

2012-09-12 05:59:34 PM
Judging by the Politico message board reaction from earlier,* hard line conservatives were against anything that Obama was going to say and were all for playing politics over the attack. Romney's advisers are all super conservatives, so they saw how it was playing on conservative sites and decided to attack. Then everyone who isn't cheerleading over the deaths of Americans to score political points saw this and was disgusted. Now the rest of the Republicans are saying how they really feel and it's just burying Mitt.

/*wtf is going on with those message boards? It is turning into Free Republic with Facebook accounts, but angrier

ManateeGag: When did Obama apologize?

He didn't. That's party why Romney's getting roasted today.

The embassy in Egypt, in an effort to appease the mob, released a statement condemning the movie. That's all.

Jan Brewer (Governor of Kyl's state) appointed a judge who basically said just that a week ago, not actually rape, just some innocent upskirt coochie grabbing. Arizonans are familiar with the asking for it angle, so who better to judge then those folks who know the subject best?

I don't see why. This is what they believe. Many of the tenets of so-called conservatism fall in line with what the Taliban is thinking on any given day.

Republicans should mention rape to the press as often as possible if they want to win in November.

"If you're a thug, you need to just wrap yourself in victimhood and call the United States an oppressor and this president will sympathize with you," he exclaimed.

2012-09-12 08:21:10 PM
How long until the Republicans see a video of a basket of adorable kittens and compare them to rape?

Not meant to be a factual statement.

My first thought, too.

Kyl, was this intended to be a factual statement, or are you trying to help the mormon clan into power (see Flake, Jeff, who is neck and neck in polls with a Democrat running for Kyl's seat)

It's more like this: That 300-lb meth-addled biker sitting at the end of the bar muttering obscenities is technically responsible for any violence he causes, but you're still a goddam idiot if you walk up to him and tell him that his mother is a whore.

The analogy is interesting. Not necessarily accurate but interesting all the same.

Jon Kyl would rather have the soon-to-be rape victim tell the rapist he has a small dick.

To make the analogy more accurate is to accuse the parents of such an idiot responsible for the injuries that result.

I can't tell..is this supposed to be a factual statement?

The wondrous part of this whole thing is that none of these knuckle-dragging airheads have even the faintest idea of just how damaging they are to Romney's election chances. They really think they're helping him, and Romney, that dumb retard, thinks they're helping too and gleefully accepts it. It's like a blind man describing the color red to another blind man.

He doesn't want to specify a victim because if they end up getting pregnant it would mean his analogy wasn't very "legitimate".

2012-09-12 09:24:31 PM
Hey, Senator! Why don't you take those big balls and fantastic foreign policy chops and put them to good use as our new ambassador to Egypt?

2012-09-12 09:30:00 PM
Sounds like he is asking to get raped by Hitler.

2012-09-12 10:02:40 PM
I thought Akin's statement had exhausted my surprise.

Then Romney's smug smirk hit my monitor.

This guy doesn't even register now...

That's because it doesn't make an ounce of sense. This might,in fact,be the worst attempt at analogy in recorded history.

/Hyperbole seems apropos under the circumstances.

2012-09-12 10:21:39 PM
I want someone to outline for me just what parts of any of the released statements constitute an apology.

Words have meaning. You can't just call something an apology and then *poof* it's an apology.

Yes. So his analogy is like raping a dead chicken.

Lost Thought 00: They will not be dictated by facts

"Mommy, what's a fact?"

"Well, dear, that was before everyone got addicted to pharmaceutical heroin. After that, we all went kinda crazy. The sky is purple now. We screwed a bunch of sh*t up. I'm sure you'll enjoy cleaning it up."

Lost Thought 00: Oh dear lord, it does indeed go to 11

Are you kidding? The Republican DERP went to 11 when the Teabaggers showed up. They've gotta be in the twenties now.

/Which just means they kept turning the nob past eleven, broke it, but just kept going.

THIS. I think it's better that they say what's on their minds, in the hope that enough rational people can see just how dangerously ignorant these folks are.

Republican joke: You know when Obama's apologizing? His lips are moving! *ba-dum tssh*

Well, I guess if anyone's an expert in telling rape victims that they deserved it because of how they dressed, it's Republicans.
