(El Comercio)   What if 30 dolphins suddenly beach themselves in front of you? Well in Brazil you grab em by the tails and drag em back into the water so they swim away. Duh   (elcomercio.pe) divider line 44

Awesome. In America or Japan, the beach goers would have been setting up a BBQ.

Dolphins and other whales often beach themselves again after such rescue efforts. Nobody is sure why.

But it's right to help them.

That....was extremely cool.

This is a repeat of 6983775, but I felt the fun part of the last conversation was noting how gendered the response was. Men of all shapes and sizes rush to save our dolphin brethren, while for the most part, women take photographs and gossip.

Dude, dolphins are intelligent and friendly.

Intelligent and friendly on rye bread with some mayonnaise.

You can watch the humans in that video and see an idea appear and evolve in a crowd.

You can also watch the dolphins in that video and what happens when the crowd's idea is a bad one.

More like "In America they would have tried to save them and fail miserably causing more pain and suffering. And in Japan, they would have the barbeque all ready to go. Fry up the things all nice and stuff and find out nobody freaking eats them...

The men are showing off their kindness for the women. Like throwing a coin to a beggar they'd ignore if they were alone. Manly ways of doing that are limited opportunities.

Two things:

1) Dolphins can be quite heavy and some of them in that clip look to be 60+ lbs. or more. There's even one guy struggling with a larger one at one point. It makes sense that the men handle the heavy lifting.

2) Everything a man does at a beach is to impress women. Everything.

i told my 83 yr old mom i find it scary that mass amounts of fish, mammals and birds are found dead en mass in different parts of the world. i asked mom if she remembered this happening in the past.

she told me fish are sometimes found dead in quantity because of conditions under water, such as churning kicking microscopic particles and the fish can't breath and they die.

then she started saying something about now we have TV, and kind of drifted off into tired I'm 83 just leave me alone diatribe, so that was the end of that conversation.

You're right, but in the video you can see how the men team up. And there are some women participating, just very few. The women could team up too, or join with the men, but for whatever reason, the two sexes just naturally split, men rescuing, women supervising, I guess.

2) Everything a man does at a beach is to impress women. Everything.

No way dude, everything ELSE at the beach is done to impress women, but men are all about rescuing dolphins. And stomping sharks.
