OH NOES!!

I find it hilariously ironic that some of the people screaming out against SOPA/PIPA in the name of "free speech" are the same ones cheering for Anonymous when they DDoS other people's websites.

The cake of the matter is that they're just tech-savvy hacks who don't want to pay for shiat. Their other arguments are just the icing on top

Google auto-completes it for me right around when I get to the letter r (thepir).

Am I doing something wrong?

2012-09-12 01:53:05 PM
It does not, however, autocomplete 1990 if you type "Glenn Beck 199"

SOPA/PIPA would shut down websites wholesale over the mere accusation of copyright infringement. Under SOPA/PIPA, if you post a picture of a certain famous Mouse on your Facebook page, all of Facebook would be shut down, not just your page.

Some random-ass blogger on Wordpress wishes a friend or family member a happy birthday? That guy just committed copyright infringement because those are not only lyrics to a song, but the title as well. As a result, all of Wordpress gets shut down and not just that guy's blog.

MPAA decides that some guy's XBL or PSN handle is a bit too much of a movie reference to be considered Fair Use? Online gaming for consoles worldwide comes to a screeching halt as the XBL and/or PSN servers are shut down en masse.

And so on and so forth. This is more than just a bunch of "tech-savvy hacks who don't want to pay for shiat," this is about Old Media companies (MPAA, RIAA, Disney, etc.) forcing people to pay for shiat they don't want and punishing people for even considering not paying top dollar for their wares.

Other things Google won't autocomplete:

Lexington Steele
Ron Jeremy
Long Dong Silver

Clearly, Google is prejudiced against huge schlongs.

All without a trial or legal recourse.

Don't copyright holders have anything better to do? Tying maidens to railroad tracks for instance? Or taking premature newborns off respirators?

Which is a moot point. I'm not willing to give up MY rights to things because OTHER people are crooks.

Your piracy problems, real or imagined, are not my problems, so when your "solutions" start hurting ME, I'm going to blame YOU.

Being aware of a currently valid IP for TPB isn't a bad idea. It's entirely possible that they're eventually be forced out of their current .se registration some day, though at that point we'll all have to worry about what update mechanism to use if their hosting changes again.

Mostly I just miss Demonoid though.

Yeah, all of that's false.

Who the fark does a google search for TPB? I assume you want to go there because you want to search for something, right?

BLAM: Keywords

I have TPB saved with the keyword "p" (for pirate!). So any time I want to look for a torrent, I just type: p midget tranny porn into the url bar and, like magic, I'm taken directly to the search results.

/Time for you all to move into the 21st century.

@Raging whore moans: I was against both sopa/pipa AND the DDoS attacks.

Please don't lump me into the same boat as those DDickbags

Really, that's as stupid as the claim any atheist would become a mass murderer if given the chance because stalin was atheist.

just add "tpb" to the end of your query, works for me.

Oh, no, I agree with you; the bills were flawed. Obviously not everyone in opposition to the bills are automatically active members of Anonymous. Something's gotta be done, though, and at the very least it's good that the conversation got going again.

how do you pre-rank the results based on numbers of seeders, or by uploader?

Unfortunately, there's no way to append your search. That would be an awesome feature.

I haven't had much luck with tpb lately, but I mostly look for music to try before I buy it. Dunno. Stuff that's been out forever just doesn't show up.

I used to use a site that got burned down (demonoid?) Is it back up, or safe to use? It was under super mega DDoS/spam/malware attack for months. Had the best search/filters/content I've seen.

it would be nice if tpd could list related torrents on each torrent page... even without the loss of serving so many 888POKER ads!

/had to check with ad-blockless IE to make sure they were still at it

Pirate bay has caught so much negative press that for many things it just does not yield the most results for a given item.
