It's much easier for Dutch pirates to steer when they use a Dutch rudder...

Hmm. GIS didn't return any porn for once, just actual pirate photos. Disappointing.

Indeed, it is a great day for the uncompensated appropriation of others' hard work by middle class children with disposable incomes and expensive smartphones based on the thinnest of pseudo-philosophical rationalizations.

Mr Poot is perturbed. Pirate Bay has been blocked. He has to use other means to find trojan laced software. Or use a proxy.

I voted for them. Am I great or what?

Just too bad that they won't get more than two of the 150 seats. That is even too few to get into the coalition. Still, let's hope that they will be able to get a few points onto the agenda.

Just in Time for Talk Like a Pirate Day (September 19)

Pass the pasta and praise the ammunition, there's finally a party that is willing and able to do something about climate change.

It makes sense that the Netherlands would be the country to elect Pirates. Not only does it have a long history of speading global good will through piracy, it is the lowest country on Earth and thus prone to flooding. The country was flooded by a strom in the 1950s and responded by building its national defences (dykes) up to withstand a 10,000 year storm. Which is good because what was thought of as a 10,000 year storm then is probably only a 1,000 year storm nowadays. The British, by contrast, built their Thames Barrier to withstand only a 150 year storm surge and have already seen London put at risk by storms and surges larger than expected.

Clearly bootstrapy and prepared do not mean the same thing, in fact, they seem to be entirely opposite at times. You can't count on the private sector to do anything properly except privatize and profit and judging from the international business cycle, they're not very good at the latter, despite being very, very good at the former, especially if there is public monies involved.

The more pirates, the lower our carbon emissions will be. Just look at Somalia--it has the lowest emissions per capita in the world and the most pirates. Or look at the impact of web piracy on emissions: as more and more goods and services are stolen in the virtual world, they create less and less pollution in the real world. Even the immense server farms required by Google and other tools of the Devil have a great impact on the intensity of the economy--it's not coincidence that the countries with the fastest growing webs are the countries with the fastest falling carbon emissions per million dollars of production.

If only we could virtualize agriculture and transportion. But we can only virtualize transportation by visiting places via Google instead of actually going to them.

When the Santa Claus machines are perfected and can finally work in something better than plastic powder, you'll be able to steal a Rolls Royce for less than the cost of stealing an MP3 today--there's a lot less data in a Rolls Royce than a record album any way, I suspect, so it makes sense it shouldn't take as long to downlowd as a movie or an album.

Clearing the benefits of everybody being super rich without paying for anything make piracy the way of the future. Pirates are showing us the way to a prosperous, healthy, happy, safe and peaceful world.

Maybe they would get more mainstream approval if they didn`t call themselves pirates?

How about `sensible copyright party` or "Intellectual property party`?

/jus sayin

It is mostly about privacy, copyright and patent law. Pirate parties started in Sweden (iirc) after the whole piratebay shiatstorm and are now slowly spreading around Europe.

This is such a ridiculous pipe dream. Do you have any idea how much a toner cartridge is going to cost for a 3D printer that works in sintered metal powder? It'll be cheaper to buy a Rolls Royce and pay to have it ground into powder.
