"passed away"??

That's a very pleasant way of putting it.

2012-09-12 05:57:09 AM
In other news Something Awful still exists.

2012-09-12 05:57:27 AM
How about "murdered without cause" instead.

That's what I was thinking too.

I don't think people in the media are interested in offending Muslims right now. Whether that's good or bad is another story. Whether stating the truth should be considered offensive is also another story.

Let's go with 'tragically slaughtered by animals'.

I really wish for him to RIP - this didn't have to happen. He should have fled the US for a country that actually promotes peace. He'd still be alive. :(

This is why we can't have nice things.

Not interested in offending Fundie Muslims? Frock them. And also Orthodox Jews, and Fundamentalist Xtians and fanatical Hindus and in your face atheists. All of them are a plague and a blight on this planet.

I am gay. Do I go on rampages whenever my sexuality and the very core of myself is insulted? No.

There is no excuse for this barbarism. None. I have about as much sympathy for Muslims (or Jeweish or Xtian) feelings and sensitivities being hurt or insulted as I have for school shooters.

Murderous homicidal mentally defective maniacs, all of them. If you kill over an insult or perceived insult to your belief system you are a pathetic looser. And everyone was bullied in school, the morans who take guns to school to shoot them up are weak.

Violence is the refuge of the mentally deficient and the weak.

Holy shiat, I played Eve Online with VileRat. At the time he was doing IT or something in Baghdad.

And, yeah, "passed away" makes it sound like he had a heart attack.

Wow, I hope this is not true but if it is the case I hope our govenments official response has a little more balls to it then what has been the case so far, pansies.

Sadly, "Islamic radicals attempt to storm US Embassy" is not a repeat from 1979.

I can't see this playing well on the American street.

Yeah, because leaving Colonel G in charge to brutally put down the uprising wouldn't have possibly led to any further unrest.

At least none we would have had to deal with. Let them kill each other, no need for us to get involved

Wait, so was the poor soul in IT or was he the ambassador? Or "just" a diplomat? Being good with computers and being good with people seem like two very different fields.

FTFArticle at CBS News: "The protests in both countries were sparked by outrage over the film ridiculing Muhammad, which was produced by an American-Israeli in California and being promoted by an extreme anti-Muslim Egyptian Christian campaigner in the United States. Excerpts from the film, dubbed into Arabic, were posted on YouTube during the summer."

Israelis stay instigating shiat.

More FTFArticle at cbsnews.com: "Sam Bacile, an American citizen who said he produced, directed and wrote the two-hour film, has gone into hiding, The Associated Press reports. He told the AP from an undisclosed location that he had not anticipated such a furious reaction. "I feel sorry for the embassy. I am mad," Bacile said.

Fk you, dual citizenship asshole. You're not mad. You're fking fapping. Probably orgasmed seven times seven over this crap. People died because you ain't got the sense god gave a muskrat not to start shiat. You got what you wanted. Mission accomplished. Now who paid you to provoke?

RIP to everyone affected by this.

Holy crap, I just learned I met this guy before. I played EVE, and he was a fairly influential character in the part of space I lived in. I've talked to him (briefly) before. It's really weird to find out the anonymous staff member I read about was in fact someone I actually met (online) before.

jaybeezey: Makes me so proud to be a part of the country that gave them air cover so they could be free enough to rampage on our mission and kill us.

Who are "them"? The people that stormed the embassy could just as likely have been Gaddafi loyalists as part of the rebels, or people that kept their heads down and didn't get involved either way. This attack could just as likely have happened while Gaddafi was in power, so I am not seeing the link.

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but there are screen grabs from Libyan television showing the bodies of the deceased being carried around through the streets and displayed.
