Corporate profits are at all-time highs.

Jobs pay shiat, and corporations aren't hiring for any good jobs, because they're working the workers they didn't fire like dogs.

This is all Obama's fault.

This can't be right. The Association of Fark Independant Engineers and Internet Dentist Association have assured us all this is just because Jonny Snowflake got a liberal arts degree instead of something useful.

I just read a report from the AoFIE that says out of 800,000 applications, not one person could add two numbers together. And that was after they cut the salary to $28,000/yr and upped the qualifications to 10 years of experience.
So they HAD to get those H1B visas...

Simply elegant proof against trickle-down economics, isn't it? Massive tax cuts continue for everyone, Wall Street has completely erased the losses of the recession, corporations are sitting on Scrooge McDuck levels of cash in their accounts, and the wealthiest 1% has continued to get wealthier. According to every trickle-downist I've seen, this situation should be resulting in massive hiring, building, spending and buying. And yet it's not. Odd. Those who claim to know about this say "oh, its' because Obama is GOING TO raise taxes!". Yeah, about what, 2.5 or 3% on the richest people? You know what? The richest folks know full well that if THAT was all the barrier between themselves and profit, they could be investing those cash reserves and making enough to cover that MASSIVE tax "hike". Unlike some people who show up in Grey 4 on my screen, people who actually make and invest millions of dollars understand the concept of the marginal tax rate and know that there isn't a magic amount after which you start making negative money.

The only thing that really explains the slow recovery is the conspiracy between Republicans and big business to intentionally fark over the rest of the country until they get their mythical regulation-free, tax-free individual-freedom-minus-gays-porn-and-abortion Mecca promised them by the Magic Mormon. Unfortunately, when Obama wins in November, this may mean more intentional sabotaging of the American Dream by those who have already achieved it, all so that they can grab an even larger share of the pie rather than having to share a slice of it to truly "lift all boats". This can be fixed, but it'll take more than an Obama victory. It will involve taking back the House as well as increasing the power of the Democrats in the Senate. And in this millionaire-funded Super-PAC world that our current SCOTUS created, I honestly don't know if that's possible any more.

entry level jobs don't usually require as much credit and investing by companies as higher-level positions, naturally, and the service sector overtaking skilled-based labor was a major side-effect of the credit bubble inflating all positions in the economy

You fool, racking up thousands in debt to pay for college! And you're too proud to flip burgers?

How is some of this not Obama's fault? Four years in office and you don't think that he should shoulder at least a little of the blame?

The "none of this is Obama's fault" nutters are as derpy as the "all of this is Obama's fault" loons.

That doesn't explain which jobs get created. It just explains who has to do the crappy ones.

Try to keep up Johnny.

It is the way it works. Oh yea, step thee is to invest a bit in the media, such as Fox, so your rant is heard across the nation every hour on the hour and worked into segments to mind warp the grey hairs that vote to convince them recovery is bad by blaming it on the current president.

and you can thank King Ronnie Raygun too because the 80's is when all that outsourcing to Communinst China, et al, for cheap labor began. remember when the steel industry was sent overseas and Ronnie had a sh*t eating republican grin on his face??

its all so confusing.

Manufacturing, I believe. Same logic though.

I remember political satirists poking fun at Reagan and Bush I for "fixing" problems by renaming them. Who knew it would become a plank in the party's platform.

Neither the government nor corporations possess a magical machine that eats money and spits out jobs. Tweaking tax rates by a few percent in either direction is not going to change this.
