Apparently, Rick Scott has worked his approval rating back up to 41% in August (as opposed to 31% from a different poll the month before).

I don't understand it, but Floridians truly do deserve the elected officials they have.

And the unemployed (and underemployed) rednecks living in a trailer park will vote for him again.

Stop electing governors with two first names:

Rick Scott
Chris Christie
Rick Perry
Mitch Daniels
Nikki Haley
Scott Walker (ok this is a stretch, unless you are a big Chuck Norris fan)

Don't have a library or employment bureau nearby with a computer resource center? Tough.

Yeah, they will. It's actually a pretty astounding, high-wizard level of mind fark sorcery on the GOP's part. Poor southerners will overwhelmingly vote for a Republican candidate despite the fact that it's against their own economic interests. But they will do so because of so-called "value-voting".

Well, yes, because of all the gay abortions performed by Obama Himself. Can't have that.

Also: I can understand wanting to do an all-Internet based application system. It's cost-cutting while (ideally) not gimping benefits. However, reality is rarely ideal. Also, this may be the way this plan was "spun" so it sounded like a good idea, all the while knowing the true implications. So, either Gov. Scott is ignorant or ...well, we DO compare him to Lex Luthor, don't we?

I never thought I would say this..But in Nikki Haley's defense her first name is more of a whitewashed nickname, her actual name is Nimrata.

Rick Scott got in due to a split vote on the Democrat side. I pray he doesn't survive another election as governor. Florida really does deserve better.

Choosing to associate yourself with those other 5 govenors instead of being sentenced to it 45 years ago by your unthinking parents isn't really a defense.

Won't argue that at all. I got laid off in FL after retiring from the Air Force in my home state and had to relocate to north AL for defense work. So it goes.

It's within the realm of possibility that, if Charlie Crist had switched to the Democrats after losing the Republican primary, both Rick Scott and Marco Rubio would have lost their elections.

It's actually worse than that. In FL whoever wins is who the old retired people vote for, they voted in the very person that stole from their Medicare funds.

I was just home for the Labor Day weekend, had a great time. I met an elderly woman in a wheelchair at a TB Rays game who planned to vote for Romney because President Obama had cut Medicare by billions of dollars for ObamaCare. I tried to explain to her Romney's running mate had backed a bill to cut Medicare benefits and make it into a voucher system that provided less coverage.

She wouldn't hear any of that. Her mind was made up and closed tighter than a mouse trap.

What can you do? I just smiled and went on my way back to my seat.

They'll just switch over to electing people with three first names. Specially, if said people are wearing 3 wolf moon t-shirts.

Based on their rhetoric regarding Obama, I suspect those three names would be something like "Lee," "Harvey," and "Oswald".

You're confusing him with Marco Rubio, who got in because Charlie Crist and Kendrick Meek split the moderate/liberal vote. Rick Scott just made the whole governor's race so distasteful with all the mudslinging that there were a ton of undervotes in that race, which was enough for him to squeak in on the strength of the tea baggers.

If you make unemployment more unpleasant, more people will be inclined to find jobs.

This is what conservatives actually believe.

Yep, because we all know how sweet those unemployment benefits are.

My father once said he was voting for Rick Scott, as opposed to Charlie Crist as I had, because Scott was going to "open this state wide to business". Whenever my dad comes back to Florida, I am sure to tell him how Scott has opened us up (after bending us over); he has not had any response in argument.

Seriously. I always hear from conservatives about how sweet it must be to lay around all day and live off the government. Well DO IT THEN. What's stopping you? If it's so frickin' awesome why the hell are you such a sucker, grumbling and moaning about your job while all those poor people are living the dream?

Oh right. It SUCKS.

Dumbasses. Try it for a month, you'll beg for your job back and never whine about government benefits again.

Yeah... Nothing like taking an 80 percent pay cut and still trying to keep the bills paid... People who've never been on unemployment should really just STFU about it. They have absolutely no idea just how stupid they sound when they talk about how great it is.

I live here....I know a lot of folks....exactly one person will admit voting for and liking him. Hell.....I've seen republican state legislators question his policies and decisions in public forums. Rumor has it Charlie Crist may run against him as a democratic party candidate next go around.

Alright, I'll bite.
One. Not a dumb bastard. I was born in wedlock /sniff
Two. I voted and volunteered for Kendrick Meek

At this point, Crist is being slapped around by the state Republicans. Although, if you want to see the true amount of *scary* freaking derp running around, look up VanZant and Clay county.

Alas, the supporters of Christian Sharia are strong in my area.
