Watch out kids, Pedophiles can ACTUALLY make noxious chemicals come from the speaker holes to increase your susceptibility to underage sexual abuse

That's kinda cool. Is that an image from something actually associated with Diamond Age, or did you just 'shop it together?

Oh, I wish I knew how to use Photoshop, no I just googled for A Young Lady's Illustrated Primer. The image this is from is too large for fark so I used an imgur tool to crop it and upload it.

I honestly don't understand subby's headline or why this link was greenlit, but what the hell, maybe I can pimp some Neal Stephenson....

I believe when the Kindle first came out, it included a Diamond Age on it, but sadly of course, an original Kindle is no match for any form of A Young Lady's Illustrated Primer. The question is could the new Kindles create a need and market for ractors?

Um... what could? Toddlers love basic logic puzzles and shiny, colorful things, and slightly older kids love fiddling with shiat, which makes a basic computer a great toy (and, currently, cheaper than getting them the various plastic shiat that is slowly becoming the realm of middle-aged collectors).

I mean, if I could be amused by sets of rectangular blocks I'm pretty sure a modern kid would have fun with angry birds or some semi-educational analogue.

//Weird favorite video game as a kid: Myst. Damned hard in the age when computer shiat was expensive to replace, try solving that piano puzzle when you've got no sound.

Apparently Subtard has never heard of LeapFrog, and their amazingly successful range of LeapPad products..

I haven't been to Toy's R Us in the past decade, has Bain Capital had any impact there or have they just leveraged the assets for loans and management fees?

Meh $150.... I'm thinking of buying my fiancee's daughter a tablet this Christmas because she is really interested in it. Although I will most likely buy one of the $50-60 tablets that Walmart has and just give her educational tools since that is the only thing she likes to play with on my laptop. I see more of a benefit in giving her a tablet than the other learning toys because those things are limited to what is already loaded on to the device or you have to buy extra cartridges for various things.

/She is in 1st grade, I don't think she will care about using a lower performing tablet

Yes. Everyone read this book, it is amazing.

/Can't wait till we start employing the thousands of unemployed Hollywood actors as NPCs in MMORPGs.
