(Relax)   Guests at a Legoland theme park were asked to delete pictures of a Lego train that had gone off the track. Since this is Fark, you can bet at least one person didn't follow through with the request   (relax.com.sg) divider line 55

Train jumped the track after someone tried to "lego" it?

Same thing will happen if you "penny" the tracks of a freight train.

Obviously not, since it didn't work...

That is hard to believe, mostly because it's not true, it takes *work* to derail a train.

So the writer was at the park topublicize it before the park opened yet acts entitled to post pics then justifies it by saying "security intimidated me, making me want to share them".

Writer is a douche.

Lego my eggo, eh! Just kidding.
Steve Harper, Cdn PM & top of the block here.
Man, I got up last night to take a piss and stepped barefoot on one of Benji's Lego buildings!
It hurt like a son-of-a-biatch and angered me so much that I went Godzilla ape-sh*t on the rest of the city he was building on the floor.
The little prick woke up in the middle of my rampage and caught it on video with his iPhone then posted it on Youtube.
Now the Japanese government is all butt-hurt & calling me a racist!
I hate politics - and Lego - and kids...

No biggie, any passengers in the crash will just drop some studs and respawn five feet away. And if they've unlocked Stud Magnet, they'll be in no danger of running out.

Site is farked.

But I will say this - I do find it amusing how sheepishly people act when it comes to complying with a request like "please delete those pictures" from a private entity. They really can't do anything to you...so yeah.

Heh... I've pennied a track, but the local lore at NCSU was that the freight trains that went behind the dorms would blow the whistle at the asscrack of dawn every day. No crossings or anything nearby, just to fark with the students at 4am.

So they greased two miles of the track.

Somehow after that the trains stopped blowing their horns at 4am....

Charles.

I think an even more fitting, though more obscure, reference would be "Oh Patricia, you silly train".

In any case, came for the DT reference and leaving satisfied.

*cheers*

Englebert Slaptyback: Experiments to Derail Train - World War II Documentary

This was cool, thanks for the link!

Reminded me of a scene in the Clancy series NightOps or SpecOps... don't remember exactly, but there was this team of black ops mercenaries. They had gear from all over (Israeli boots, Russian weapons, Chinese fatigues, etc.) so they couldn't be reliably attributed to any operating military branch. Anyway, their objective was on a train, I think it was an assassination or kidnapping and they welded a plate of steel or rebar at an angle off the tracks to derail the train.

It was a cool scene... read it years ago so I wish I could recall it more accurately, but that was the basic premise.

"We operate all our rides in line with the Legoland international safety standards."

Oh, well as long as they were in line with LISS, really "the" international authority on LEGO travel, we should be okay. I think we can all take a collective sigh of relief now.
