The CSI episodes were based around the work of forensic innovator Frances Glessner Lee. Lee made little models of crime scenes, which are referred to as the Nutshell Studies of Unexplained Death. There's a fascinating article on Crime Library about her.

One of my many hobbies. I bought all of the Polar Lights/Aurora remake models at a horror movie trade show a couple of years ago. I'm working on 'The Witch' right now. With all of the painting and sanding it takes me forever to complete one.
