Democrats boycott your business because you used the proceeds from your business to take away their civil rights, such as the Mormons did in financing Prop 8 or Chick-fil-A did in financing officially-designated hate groups. Republicans boycott your business because you got excited to meet the President of the United States

This is true, but that's only because Republicans are horrible people.

Worked for me:

GOPers now trying to destroy small business owner who bear-hugged Obama
By John Aravosis on 9/10/2012 11:58:00 AM

| Reddit | Tumblr | Digg | FARK
Obama must be destroyed. So anyone who shows any sign of humanity vis-a-vis the President - like this Republican small businessman who gave Obama a bear hug yesterday when the President stopped in his pizza joint - must also be destroyed.

They're attacking his Yelp profile and voting down his business in order to convince people that it's not a reputable business, and ultimately hurt the small business owner financially.

All because he hugged the President of the United States.

Here's an example of what they're doing to him on Yelp, a site that's supposed to rate how well the man operates his business:
Well.. I'd eat there but after seeing the owner grab our leftist President I felt compelled to disrespect his establishment as much as the President disrespects our constitution. Shame on you Scott Van Duzer for thumbing your nose at all the small business owners this President has disrespected for the last four years. I guess you DIDN'T BUILD IT!

I hope you're prepared for many more Yelps like this!!! Maybe you weren't thinking, or maybe you are the only liberal pro Obama business owner, who knows.. but you won't get mine or anyone else's business for your treachery.
Let me recap. Democrats boycott your business because you used the proceeds from your business to take away their civil rights, such as the Mormons did in financing Prop 8 or Chick-fil-A did in financing officially-designated hate groups. Republicans boycott your business because you got excited to meet the President of the United States.

Greg from, where else, Arizona:
Talk about committing business suicide. After picking up Obama, your books are gonna be in the red pretty soon. Not too smart.
Another poster raised a good point:
These reviews demonstrate that the right-wingers DON'T support small businesses. They support small businesses that agree with their stinking POLITICS, which is the same thing as not supporting small businesses AT ALL.
Where are Romney and Ryan on the fact that their supporters are now trying to destroy a small businessman simply for being a patriotic American?

But this Yelp commenter said it:
Simply to balance out the idiots, like Mike A., who are reviewing a place because the owner was able to not hate someone that they did.
And isn't that what it's really all about? Democrats dislike you because you hate. Republicans dislike you because you don't hate. And then they criticize us for being intolerant of their intolerance.

There's a reason the Republican party is perceived as bigoted, homophobic and intolerant. As mean and uncaring. As greedy, and for the rich. Because it is.

Annnnnd he immediately gets flooded with 5-star reviews. Cunning plan, guys.

I saw that. It brightened my day.

Now, now, that's not true. Republicans are boycotting his business because he is committing high treason. In reality, this is a gentle punishment since he should be publicly flayed for betraying his country.

Do people really use Yelp to decide where to eat pizza?

2012-09-10 05:44:59 PM
Oh, if anyone is wondering, it seems that all of the negative reviews have been taken down, but so far, all of the over 400 positive reviews from today are still up.

2012-09-10 05:45:09 PM
This incident also demonstrates why Yelp is not exactly reliable.

Meh. Yelp has been deleting the 1 star and the 5 star reviews because they violate the terms of service, so in the end, nothing is going to happen to this guy's Yelp rating.

Why would this surprise anyone? Fox News has waged a war against the Chevy Volt since it was released to the market. They have pounded mis-information into the heads of their listeners constantly claiming that it only has a 30 mile range (closer to 400 miles), Catches fire (actually they don't) but close to 200,000 gas only cars do each year, takes 12 hours to charge (actually it about 4 hours on a 240 volt outlet), etc. etc. etc.

I speak to people all the time who believe the FOX lies about the Chevy Volt.

So if FOX is pro business why is it targeting American businesses? The pattern is very clear, they attack any business that shows a remote affiliation with our President.

In my opinion, FOX NEWS is profoundly Anti-American.

They're pissed because if Romney went to a pizza shop he'd insult the quality of the pie, brag about how his family flies to Tuscany for pizza, then walk out on the bill.

Finally, people are finally grasping the crux of all this. Thank God. I've felt like I've been taking crazy pills for the last 12 years.

The point is not that the guy's business is suffering. It most likely wont, hopefully. It's that this is how the extremist right reacts to anyone showing anything but disgust and hatred towards Obama.

I do when I'm somewhere I've never been, and don't know any locals to ask. It's either that, or draw the names out of a hat. That's how I ended up at Bob's Crematorium and BBQ Ribs that one time.

Yelp pulls bad reviews if the owner pays them. It's useless.

Johnny_Whistle: The point is not that the guy's business is suffering. It most likely wont, hopefully. It's that this is how the extremist right reacts to anyone showing anything but disgust and hatred towards Obama.

Well, look at it this way: of his existing, and likely modest, clientele, he MAY lose a handful of extreme derpists. At the same time, he'll be attracting new customers from the pretty much unlimited base of people who hear this story. Even if it's only locals, it's still a lot of people. The worst the haters can do is not eat there. That won't undo the effect of all those who do.

In short, it seems to me like in the end he'll gain far more than he loses, here.

I don't speak for all conservatives since I don't like to generalize like SOME people, but my favorite type of protest is roasting spotted owls in the flames of the orphanage for black gay Muslim AIDS babies I just torched. Try doing that from a Hoveround. Stop making assumptions, dickbag

When I travel, usually the hotel has a concierge desk where you can ask " What place has good pizza around here?" or at least a magazine / guide or something with local businesses in it.

If I was moving to a different city, I would ask my neighbors or co-workers where the best places are.

So boycotting a business over politics is only acceptable if you are liberal and disagree with that business or particular shows or networks that business runs commercials on.

False equivalence is false.

Chick-Fil-A: Boycotted because they want to curtail civil rights.
Pizza Place: Boycotted because he's a fan of the president.
