Its going to be unbelievably expensive. But at least the entirety of the 1% will never die.

Looks like we won't have to eliminate estate taxes after all!

I'm sure this won't in any way go wrong, or be used for the wrong things.

We have reached consensus - when organics are no longer required we will kill them from within. Begin infiltration.

Remember LED digital watches? How about Palm Pilots? How about the original IBM PC? How about the first hand-held calculator? In medicine, how about the first heart transplants? Probably not; your handle sounds child-like, as does the contents of your profile. The point is, they originally cost a ton of money and were somewhat "iffy" as to whether they worked correctly. A good chunk of that !% were the "original responders" who slapped down a bunch of money for what in retrospect was overpriced and/or dangerous crap and effectively created the market for the item, thereby encouraging innovation, competition and - taa daa - price decreases.

Maybe I am not as old as I think, the first thing that came to mind was the Dennis Quaid/Martin Short comedy version of that.

There's hope! They'll make it affordable to everyone so they can hardwire your ideological preferences from the inside.

Just Another OC Homeless Guy: How about the first hand-held calculator?

The first one I used cost over $300.

You can never trust those black market implants man - who knows what kind of code you are putting into your body! They'll have you dancing like a puppet in no time. But you always run the risk of the corporations having some sort of monitoring ability from standard market augmentations. It just comes down to who you want to be listening in on your life, big brother or some scumbag down the street.

/can't wait for shadowrun returns.

I think it's hilarious that you post this in a thread devoted to nanobots...

How did we get on nanobots, anyway? TFA is just about robots working in packs.

Strangely enough I just finished reading that. I'm not a big fan of his writing but my in laws had it for sale in a yard sale so I picked it up.

utter batshiat bullshiat... simple enough to prove stupid.

most arterial plaque contains metals, the same metals they'd make the little machines out of.

I'm hearing how to get away with murder.

"I didn't stab that guy, officer. The machines took control. I was stuck as a passenger in my own body."

Oh the fun we'll have hacking our friends nanobots with a phone app that causes 'inappropriate' boners!
