Rockstone: I was in 2nd grade. I'm now a Freshman in college./CSB
Confabulat: I know exactly what online news looked like on 9/11 cause I spent the whole day refreshing this little site called Fark.com on my dial-up modem. I figured I maybe oughta register so I could chime in that day but they had this annoying 24-hour waiting period for new accounts, pain in the ass.It changed a lot of lives, 9/11.
Ed Grubermann: Can we please move on? It's been eleven years.
LuckPusher: It is also remarkable how irrelevant fark has become. It feels like a ghosttown here nowadays.
Incorrigible Astronaut: LuckPusher: It is also remarkable how irrelevant fark has become. It feels like a ghosttown here nowadays.Really, dude? The original 9/11 thread a few links up had less than 400 comments. These days you get more than that from a Cracked article.
Some Bass Playing Guy: Ed Grubermann: Can we please move on? It's been eleven years.11 years is still recent memory, especially considering that people still talk about events like Pearl Harbor when Dec. 7th rolls around. People will be talking about 9/11 for a long time.
Tenatra: I was sitting in 11th grade English. I was mesmerized by the explosion and collapse of the building, it was a beautiful disaster. Then again my first memories of TV were that of being glued to Operation Desert Storm at 4-5ish years old. Then came OKC Bombing, Columbine, Kosovo War, 9/11, Shock and Awe, etc etc. I'm sure there were other events that filled the empty gaps, I was raised on explosions, war, and violence from Kindergarten - to my adult life
Great_Milenko: Deep Contact: Realy sad day for all of us, well except for Cheney.Look at the CNN page. McCain was beating the drumbeat for war even before the towers even collapsed..
rattchett: Ed Grubermann: Can we please move on? It's been eleven years.I found it quieter this year. The 9/11 anniversary snuck up on me. Am I the only one who thinks so?
JuddyBuddy77: Ok jerks, I want a TotalFark membership, but the only way to do that is though pay pal, and uh let's just say that pay pal has banned me for life, so...can any one help me out her? I can pay for myself, just need another avenue..
Carth: I still can't believe there are so many people who don't remember a time when America wasn't at war
Carth: For farkers who are in high school or college it must seem like ancient history.

Inigo: The Onion: "Holy farking shiat" Edition
ourbigdumbmouth: I was in fark and listening Howard Stern. I think that's all I needed
Ball of Confusion: Rock & roll's been going downhill ever since Buddy Holly died.
Some Bass Playing Guy: I suspect that a few generations from now, events like Pearl Harbor will simply be historical footnotes because nobody who was there will still be alive and and many of the children of those people will be gone too. Except to people with a specific interest in WW II or history in general. In any case, I think most would agree, that 11 years still qualifies as a recent event. Especially since things are a lot different post 9/11 than they were pre 9/11.
schief2: Wow, I'd forgotten just how much Yahoo's home page was an utterly crap-filled mess back in the day...even on 9/11.

vudukungfu: Be outraged that the blood of innocent people is being spilled over a knee jerk reaction to an incident that should have been brushed off as the cost of doing business as a free country
Zeno-25: Ed Grubermann: Can we please move on? It's been eleven years.Never!
