I am not sure if Newt actually believes this or he is just trying to sell it to the rubes.

Probably a bit of both. That gelatinous pantload racked up a lot of debts during his presidential run.

It's Obama's fault that Republicans refuse to compromise with him for the good of the country - this is what Newt Gingrich actually believes knows is bullshiat but is trying to sell.

The Clinton speech at the Democratic National Convention was "eerily anti-Obama, if you just listen to the subtext,"

I didn't get to the subtext. I listened to the words and heard a brutal ass-raping of Romney, Ryan, and the GOP Congress.

Is Newt still considered the intellectual pinnacle of the Republican party? Or is that Paul Ryan now?

Since when does a republican grasp the concept of "subtext"?

That is all.

Newt Gingrich is what stupid people think smart people sound like

Why do people even listen to what this person says? I thought he was universally accepted as being a moron.

I have seen this talking point in a few places. The logic seems to be:

- People loved Clinton's speech
- Republicans can't actually repudiate it
- Republicans claim the speech was actually Anti-Obama
- Some number of people greater than zero will believe them, and assume that since they liked Clinton's speech, they must not like Obama

That's good, except the + and - signs are the wrong way around. Newt always acquires the new one before discarding the old. He's one of those needy types who is desperately afraid of being alone.

/When I want the Deep Thoughts of a serial adulterer, Newt will be top of my list
//No he won't

Ah, yes. Is it any wonder that Newt Gingrich would hearken back to the the Clinton years as a time when this country had a REAL president? I mean, he and Clinton totally loved each other back then. It was kind of embarrassing how much Gingrich, along with the rest of the GOP caucus, would praise the job Clinton was doing presidentin' back then. I mean, if you're gonna be the opposition party, try doing a little opposition once in a while. Sheesh.

Is it me, or has the GOP gone completely MINITRU on this election?

...and there are a lot of stupid people in this country. He's universally accepted as a moron by non-morons. Everyone else thinks he's pretty swell.

So......according to GOP logic, compliments are now criticisms?

Maybe I should go criticize some Republicans.

They should happily preen and glow and eat it right up with a spoon and ask for moar.

Newt just wants The Big Dog to show him some sweet, sweet Arkansas lovin'. The kind that he dare not speak out loud, not with the new wife in tow. He just misses their back and forth conversations back in the day. Even negative attention is something Newt to get excited about, which is sort of sad making, when you ponder on it...

I dislike an awful lot of politicians. I dislike Romney for being a duplicitous asshole. I dislike Paul Ryan for his ideological social Darwinism he tries to pass off as sound fiscal policy.

But Gingrich and Bachman are the two politicians I genuinely feel contempt for. Probably John Edwards as well.

When Newt gives commentary or speeches, I feel like I'm listening to a buddy of mine read back what he scribbled down while he was tripping balls in his attic on a 3 week LSD binge.

"And its true! Since, because, ready for it?.... Pickles! TA-DAA! Cant refute that one."

/ Not even gonna try to, Newty.

Kittypie070: So......according to GOP logic, compliments are now criticisms?

There was an element in the GOP that was convinced that Clinton was going to vote Romney or at least was going to come out at the convention and blast Obama. Someof them are deadenders to the point that they have to convince themselves that his speech still blasted Obama. And Obama came out and hugged him after because bowing wimp, or something.
