More proof that owning a cat makes you crazy. What normal person validates their existence by obsessively hovering around their cat to take pictures for posting and captioning on the net?

I don't get along with cats, but frankly I wonder these days if that is a result of the cat itself or its owners.

I would wish that this meme would die out already, but I am sure that the wingnut caturday people won't dare let up for fear of discovering that there is an actual world out there that doesn't give a fark about pictures of their cat.

I own a pleasant cat, now indolent and purr-prone after a rough start as a rescued, starving thing.

She frequently passes out in amusing poses.

I could take pictures, but I do not consider the comedy value sufficiently high, nor would it occur to me to post such weak sauce.

/get five minutes closer to death and look me up on Facebook.

I used to own a cat. One cat that pisses on the carpet instead of the litterbox is enough to put me off cat ownership. I also have a dog. He's getting old and probably won't be replaced when he passes either. No matter how much I sweep and vaccuum, there's still dog hair everywhere. He's destroyed the wood floors and damaged the screens. Maybe I'll stick with fish. A giant tank full of breeding guppies and one predator fish to eat up the excess.

When the Department of Defense created ARPANET back in the late 60s, they probably never imagined it would ultimately be used to post pictures of cats with amusing captions.

I got my very first cat just two months ago.
She is messy sometimes and asthmatic and I haaaaate cleaning the litter box and giving her her nyanhaler.

It is all more than worth it for a soft, purring little friend that sits on my lap and snuggles next to me when I sleep.

It's not about damage to a child, it's having an animal that doesn't attack people. Take some responsibility as an owner (or if you prefer the airy fairy term "guardian") and teach your farking animal some manners. Cat people (and some dog people too) seem to think that their animal's attack behavior is cute, or it is the old "I have a cat and a cat is a free spirit so I let it do whatever the fark it wants" thing. Fark that.

I've had dogs, birds, and hedgehogs throughout my life and have been able to instill a modicum of manners in all of them. If you can't be bothered to take the time to do the same with your animal you don't deserve to have one, and your animal will suffer because of it.

Or the kid could learn to stop pulling the cat's tail. That's an equally valid explanation for that situation as your attack cat hypothesis.

I had an abusive bird once, a budgie. It would dive bomb me and screech in my face if proper attention wasn't paid to it. Eventually it was so disgusted with my 'substandard' level of care, it found a way to escape its cage while outside and flew away.

Now I have two rescue cats and they attack each other and leave me alone. Also a rescue angel fish. I'm done with birds, they're moody biatches.
