His supporters are scum by extension.

There goes Lyin' Ryan again. What an asshole.

Gas prices here in CA have increased dramatically over the past few weeks due to a refinery fire in NorCal last month. Obama had NOTHING to do with that.

Are we gonna have the "gas prices doubled under Obama" herpaderp argument again?

Really? Really really?

Weird thing about this whole "Obama is deliberately keeping gas prices high" argument to me is that the Righties seems to be accusing Obama of deliberately doing something that would tend to hurt his chances in 2012 here.

Out of what? Pure spite, a fit of pique, anti-colonial resentment?

Perhaps Obama is handicapping himself in order to make the race fairer and more of a challenge because he realizes Romney is such a woefully inadequate and hapless candidate?

/Yes, I realize that trying to apply logic to RW rhetoric is a mug's game. I'mma stubborn, though.

Why does he go to such lengths to keep gas prices high you ask?

Socialism! One of the major tenets of socialism is to create artificial profits for the petrochemical industry, but they don't talk about that one much.

Well, I'll tell you why.
They believe that Obama is keeping gas prices high, and doing everything he can to raise them even higher so that people will be forced to stop driving gas guzzling cars and switch to socialist electric/wind/unicorn fart powered 'green' vehicles. Because Obama hates the oil industry. And because he wants to drive trillions in government taxpayer money to his 'green' power buddies to pay them back for their campaign contributions.

God damn Ryan is a ridiculous idiot. Its like that guy in class that would not shut up no matter how many times he misunderstood the assignment and kept asking dumb questions, how many times the teacher explained it, or how many times the other kids tried to help. Ryan is that guy who was just certain he was RIGHT and had to have everyone acknowledge it or he would not shut up.

And I bet his parents attacked the school if he got less than an A, too.

I've searched all the the varuous government agencies, and I have to find the one that controls gas prices.  Nor have I ever heard a reason why President Obama (or any president, for that matter) would want gas prices to remain high during the final three months of an election.

I just don't understand what the hell Ryan and the rest of them are thinking. Do they really believe that independents will suddenly wake up and think, "OMG! Obama is a monster! We must grab our torches and pitchforks!"

Or maybe they do...

They're really desperate now. They're so damn afraid of losing and having their master plan from the last four years go completely to waste. If Obama wins, they won't be able to get rid of ObamaCare, they won't be able to stop government from helping people and being a force for good in the world, and the Democrats will start making a very slow march away from casino capitalism.

He's doing it because he hates America and wants the US to fail, obviously.

Look, think about it for a second. If gas prices go up dramatically, people will be angry and blame the President, right? And that would hurt Obama's chance of getting re-elected, right? And that would put Romney in the White House, right? And that would be a f**king disaster- worst possible thing that could happen to the US right now, right? Only someone who truly hates America and wants it to fail would want Romney to win the election! So Obama is trying to raise gas prices because he hates America and he wants the US to fail.

It makes perfect sense when you think about it.

I'm glad the GOP has found a way to attack Obama when gas prices are high and when he does things to try and lower them.

God forbid Obama play politics with the strategic reserve in an effort to score political points.

So they are now charging that he is passing info directly to the taliban, he's a secret commie muslim terrorist, and that he's intentionally keeping gas prices high because he has a deep seeded hatered of America and "Real Americans".

ok then. Good luck with that crazy train

The shows this morning were comedy gold. This election is already over unless you can flat out buy it.

Romney kills his conservative base by admitting he'd keep parts of Obamacare while showing he doesn't live in reality. (Removing the mandate portion while keeping a preexisting condition exemption results in an eventual death spiral due to healthy people not keeping insurance until they get sick).

Paul Ryan got caught trying to argue against the very thing he voted for and then lies, lies, and lies some more trying to get out of it. Yeah, blast away and those dastardly military cuts Obama implemented..and Ryan voted for.

Rand Paul got owned by Krugman by trying to assert that government employees have skyrocketed under Obama (they've decreased drastically).

Oh, and both Ryan and Romney bent over backwards to avoid naming a single tax loophole they would close to balance their budget. Of course considering that it's "mathematically impossible" to balance is hardly a stumbling block when you don't have to explain it.

And would raise prices as the oil leaves for China, if it IS built.

2012-09-09 04:11:48 PM
Of course the latest example of these 'great lengths' would be the increased MPG targets for cars, since everyone knows that reducing demand for a product like gas increases the price.

/I'm not saying Ryan did well at micro-econ

It's like the crazed Righties who used to accuse metal artists of encouraging their fans to kill themselves. Rob Halford said it best (paraphrasing): "Even IF we had the ability to mind-control our fans, WHY would we have them kill themselves? That doesn't benefit us in the LEAST! Why wouldn't the message be 'Go and buy another Judas Priest album and pick up a lovely t-shirt while you're at it!'"

It's because the people doing the accusing (not Ryan himself in this case, but his supporters) firmly believe that these people do things JUST CAUSE THEY'RE EEEEEEEEVIIIIIIIIL!

/like a Captain Planet villain
//because fark THOSE TREES, THAT'S WHY!!
