There's only gridlock because Democrats want what Republicans wanted in 1995 and Republicans want what JP Morgan wanted in 1890.

El Freak: Those clowns in Congress did it again. What a bunch of clowns.

How does it keep up with the news like that?

Give me a break. There are a lot of useful things that Congress will do this session:

1. Condemn Palestine for something

2. Unsuccessfully vote about 40 times to try to ban abortion

3. Unsuccessfully vote about 40 times to try to overturn Obamacare

4. Spend weeks talking about prayer in school

5. Put forward tons of laws with no chance of passing, so they can load them up with earmarks to show how awesome they are to their constituents.

6. Issue a resolution re-re-re-re-re-affirming that America is all about "In God We Trust"

Via Infinito: I wish the president could issue some kind of executive order which keeps the Congress from getting paid when they don't do their jobs.

Closest power to that looks to be that "he may, on extraordinary occasions, convene both Houses, or either of them". The degree of do-nothing to this congress is pretty extraordinary, but I doubt even that kind of drastic measure would get anything done.

On the other hand, it might help President Obama secure re-election.

What are you talking about? There won't be a 38th attempt to repeal Obamacare?
