(Daily Mail)   Coldplay will be playing at the Paralympics closing closing ceremonies. Man, first these people have had to work so hard to overcome major handicaps, now they have to listen to Coldplay? (w/photos)   (dailymail.co.uk) divider line 18

It's the Paralympics not the Special Olympics. Big difference between the two.

I realize that most farkers think that all music must be of the head banger variety with no tonality, no sense of accurate rhythm and volume that will make them deaf by the age of 16 but hey, not everyone has to like Plain White T's. (Been a professional musician for over 40 years.)

I listen to primarily jazz and underground hip hop, and I like Coldplay for some odd reason. I don't follow them in the slightest, but I handpicked a playlist of theirs that used to get a surprising amount of play when I was drunk. I credit them like I credit RHCP for rock, 2 bands from genres I otherwise have abolutely no interest in that can draw me in.

It's going to be a cover performance. Here's the playlist:

1. (I Just) Died In Your Arms -- Originally Cutting Crew
2. Can I Trust Your Arms -- Originally Olivia Newton John
3. Death On Two Legs -- Originally Queen
4. Don't You Feel My Leg -- Originally Blue Lu Barker
5. I Want To Hold Your Hand -- Originally the Beatles
6. Legs -- Originally ZZ Top
7. My Iron Lung -- Originally Radiohead
8. Nice Legs Shame About Her Face -- Originally the Monks
9. You Need Hands -- Originally Max Bygraves

And for the finale -- Up On Cripple Creek -- Originally the Band

Chris Martin uses ryming couplets in his songs like an OCD clean-freak uses soap.
