No, he appeared as Montgomery Scott. He did not portray 20th-century actor James Doohan.

Thank you, I was about to say that myself. Still, I must say, the "Relics" episode was the only thing that ever actually instilled a fear of getting old into me.

Yeah, you could lose your mind and forget that your former captain is dead.

They said there was some small amount of pattern degradation after all those years. What do you think got lost? His right middle finger?

Judging from the number of reposts of funny pictures from George Takei's facebook I see on my wall, I'm pretty sure he just stays at home searching 4chan and reddit for images.

Better dead than having to watch Next Gen. Fark, that show was a limp-wristed circle jerk. OS and DS9 is where it's at.

That's why I intend to die liquored op on scotch and balls deep in an expensive hooker. I'm not going to wait for my body to decay to the point that machines have to keep me alive, and someone else has to wipe my ass.

Correct.

He played himself in 'Knight Rider 2000'

That's right. I went there.

Having seen the episode myself, I can confirm this.

I'm wondering how much this article could be and still be considered more than some other-the-table mutterings. The few people they did show did MUCH more than they said, and some of it was pretty interesting. And how about all the ones they didn't mention? It's not like Nichelle Nichols retired after the show. Majel Barrett did a ton of stuff, too. I'm sorry, but TFA is pretty weak if you ask me.

The article is fail. Nimoy is also a very accomplished photographer.

CSB Time

Last year before moving away from our home of 17 years, we created a bucket list of things we wanted to see or do.

My 12 year old son said he wanted to meet Nimoy. I was able to make that happen when Nimoy donated his art work to Boston University.

I still can't believe I managed to pull that one off.

I liked Avery Brooks before seeing that interview.

Now I'm dangerously near man crush territory (the girlfriend said she'd only agree to a three-way with Alton Brown, so I need to pick my battles).

It would have been nice if they gave a shout-out to Takei's play (or is it a musical?) about the Japanese internment during WW2, considering it's something that he's been deeply involved in and is quite current.

And mostly because the NBC executives couldn't believe that guy was so unprofessional that he actually cast "his GIRLFRIEND" in the second most important role in a proposed network TV series.

Dammit, I was hoping you were wrong. Once again she's left out. I only went through the slideshow after reading your post. Nimoy, Shatner and Takai have a high enough profile that anyone who'd click on the link already knows their activities. Half the rest featured are dead, so their status hasn't changed in several years.

There is is a definite comfort I feel knowing William Shatner is still around, acting, and sharp as a tack. He's one of the few celebrities where I will feel a definite void when the day comes he passes. He's a living monument to life doesn't have to be depressing or taken too seriously.

His character came back, due to popular demand, in an ad just last month. Remember, they only implied that he'd died in that fiery bus crash earlier this year. Writers can do anything, especially with TV commercials.

Yeah, I'm a huge Lewis Carroll fan. Seriously, you've no idea. Sylvia's obviously not my real name; I don't think anyone near my age has that name. I took it from the title character of Nicole Hollander's comic, which I read faithfully when it ran in my alt weekly paper; I love that crusty old bag and want to be just like her if I ever grow up, or at least when I grow old.
