Seriously, where the fark did Joe Biden come from? He's like some sort of megabot of awesome qualifications. If you told me there was a politician with just one of his major traits I'd go 'he sounds like a cool guy.' Then you pile them all together and you have this grandfatherly figure who's suffered amazing personal tragedy, worked his ass off, rode the train to work with a lunch pail, is the father to a soldier, and who also speaks really well in public with this wonderfully genuine ability to slip up. Even when he makes mistakes, it's this really reasonable, relatable kind of mistake. It's not like Romney not being able to identify a donut, it's a sort of 'Oh shiat, I can imagine farking up like that.'

Isn't it awesome that the Dems can make that type of challenge. Republicans know that they can't even begin to make that statement. Republicans, or at least Independents should really take notice that only one party is daring enough to tell the press to fact check them and that the other is stating, :"We won't let our campaign be determined by fact checkers." It is a very telling sign.

Biden has been nothing but a liability for Obama. He is a figure of fun, routinely ridiculed on late night talk shows. Every other word out of his is something silly or a crude mistake that doesnt even need to be fact checked.

and hes a heartbeat from the presidency.

I, for one, have thoroughly enjoyed having the VP be a lovable goof whil the Pres sits back and runs the show.

It's a refreshing switch from the way it was from '01-'09

Umm......no. I will make this short since I am on my way to church. I don't pretend to believe that no democrats lie and all republicans lie. I meant exactly what I said. The lies of the left pale in comparison to the lies on the right. No matter which side you are on, you have to admit that there are more "mistatements" or "He misspoke" coming from the right than the left.

I am going to church to pray specifically FOR YOU.

The truth is obsolete. :/

True, but shameful. In a right wingers world, up is down, left is right and no means yes.
Some right wingers are going around calling Obama a socialist and are acting like their pants are on fire, yet they are at the lowest tax rate that they have probably even been. Then they scream about a deficit, but don't want to raise taxes. They know that trickle down doesn't work yet they double down on trickle down (borrowed that phrase). They scream about Sharia law while simultaneously trying to brintog about Christian law. They force you to have a baby (by trying to limit abortion), but want to take away the safety nets meant for people who are struggling. They claim they are not racists, but have racist undertones in a lot of their rhetoric. They scream for a birth certificate (no other President has ever had to show a birth certificate), while saying that we don't need Mitt Romney's tax returns. They can't attract minority voters. They try to restrict voting (especially in minority heavy districts) and call it reform. The list goes on and on. I don't see any advantage for any American making under $250,000 per year to vote for Romney.

I voted for him in the primary, but since he's been VP, it's been a non-stop train to awesome-ville. I like how many republicans refuse to realize this.

It's like they've really bought into the Rovian trick of using your own weaknesses against your opponent: "hey, we've got terrible VP' s (Quayle,Cheney, Palin) so they must have them too. Why can't you see this?"

I realize you might be European or African or Southeast Asian, in which case you do not necessarily have a lot of exposure to the USA and its major TV shows and literature from the past 50 years. So here's what you are missing: the VP is an extremely common source of ridicule in US pop culture. every VP has been a popular target since Reagan's years. Every network talk show will make a joke about the VP at least once per episode. newspapers will do it weekly, and especially humorist's columns, like Dave Berry for example. The VP is always ridiculed. That is part of modern Americana.

FirstNationalBastard: So, when Biden eviscerates Ryan in the VP debate, are the Republican concern trolls still going to be carrying on with the "Biden should have been dumped, he's a liability and TEH DUMBZ!" groupthink?

No. When they lose and lose decisively, Republicans go into Martyr Mode. It's the reason that Biden didn't go after Palin too badly in their debate; he had to sit back and let her make a fool of herself, because if he went on the attack the dominant story would be that he's a bully.

I'm genuinely not sure if they'd do the same for Ryan. I mean, he's supposed to be the tough smart guy willing to tell Hard TruthsTM, so they'd look dumb trying to play the victim. But the GOP is able to get away with so much counterintuitive crap that I think they'd try it anyway. Joe will become the big bad meanie who won't let Ryan tell his Hard Truths, until the debate goes down the memory hole. Then he'll go back to being a dumb liability.

Considering the GOP has long been pushing the line that fact-checkers are also part of the liberal mainstream LMSM media, and cannot be trusted, this will just further the belief that right-wingers have that fact-checking is part of the liberal conspiracy.

/this rabbit hole goes deep
//don'cha know?

I would be ashamed to belong to a party that tells me that I can only trust the news from their source. Sounds very Hitlerish doesn't it?

Reminds me of Rush Limbaugh coming right out and telling his listeners [paraphrased] "Now don't think about that. I don't want you to think about it. Just react. Don't go searching for more information. Don't waste your time on Google. What's your gut telling you?" I have no idea how people can listen to someone tell them something like that and not realize they're being played the fool.

Cuz they aren't searching for information. They are waiting to see what they should be outraged about. If you present them with facts that don't line up with what they have been told, they discount it by calling it part of the "librul media." I feel like some people are so far gone that they are at the point of no return. The only thing that could help them is if their leaders told them the media was good and facts are good. Poor people. I really do feel sorry for them. Bless their little hearts.
