Skyrim is the latest in a series of games known as The Elder Scrolls. It follows the trias and tribulation in a mythical land long ago. This particular iteratio is full of DRAGONS! When you join the game, you can create your characer. Khajit are one of the races you can choose. they are cat like characters known for their sneakinnesss and guile, and are great if you plan to focus on those aspects of the game, such as thievery and assasination. Skooma is a substance available in the game that can be drank, and has effects not unlike, well...PCP.

The game kicks ass. It's a huge interactive world not unlike WOW. But unlike WOW, you can play entirely single player.

Just watch out for the frost trolls. They're a biatch.

Recommended Requirements:

Windows 7/Vista/XP PC (32 or 64 bit)
Processor: Quad-core Intel or AMD CPU
4GB System RAM
6GB free HDD space
DirectX 9.0c compatible NVIDIA or AMD ATI video card with 1GB of RAM (Nvidia GeForce GTX 260 or higher; ATI Radeon 4890 or higher).
DirectX compatible sound card
Internet access for Steam activation

The "minimum" requirements are a little lower, but I tried it on my PC at the minimum.....not worth the headache.

I got a copy for my XBox instead, rather than upgrading my rig. I actually like the XBox better because of the controller, less keyboard configuration crap to mess with.

I played Hearthfire portions for a bit last night. It was buggy at first (the courier told me to go see the steward in Falkreath, but there was no dialogue tree available when I got there), but it turned out to be strangely addictive, goddamit. I would have expected to be bored to tears watching my guy mine and saw, but two hours later, I have a fish hatchery, a garden, and the main hall completed.

/wonder if I can grow Crimson Nirnroot in the garden? Hmmmm...

Try a Core i5 mated with say a GTX560Ti. It's not a Ferrari of the PC gaming world but it most certainly isn't a Kia either. The only game I play which this thing struggles with is Anno 2070 and when everything is turned on it spanks both the GPU and CPU quite hard; but meh a tycoon game pulling 40fps is not exactly a problem.

Saints Row 3, Deus Ex, Spacemarine all sit happily at 60fps@1080p with vsync on obviously (it'd do more but it's kinda wasted on a 60hz display).

To get higher end graphics, here's a tower for just over $700:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/CyberPowerPC+-+Gamer+Ultra+Desktop+-+8GB+ M emory+-+1TB+Hard+Drive/5857359.p?id=1218697295840&skuId=5857359&cmp=RM X&ky=2gpRFobmGfNgXFeICUBTMbKud1QKrPF7D&IcsCsid=2-39-2591-25-5-301308-3 01310-25-2591-912-25-2591-2889-0-1

Here's a slightly cheaper one I would personally go with, currently sold out online though:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/CyberPowerPC+-+Gamer+Xtreme+Desktop+-+8GB + Memory+-+1TB+Hard+Drive/5857298.p?id=1218697295137&skuId=5857298

And a comparable one from anotehr company:

http://www.staples.com/iBuyPower-Power-ST900-Desktop-PC/product_93212 9

You can buy 20 inch flat screen monitors from either place for $100.

And....if you're flexible on the quad core, you can drop the price of the tower down under $600 if you go with a duo core setup.

But...take those ones I found above....search them out on Amazon, Tiger Direct, etc. Sometimes you can find some good refurb deals, or a slightly different configuration without all the bells and whistles a bit cheaper, and so on.

Hearthfire is only 400 points.

It's ok, except for the part where I can't get the third homestead from the steward in Falkwreath, since I killed him to death as part of the Dark Brotherhood questline.

I also ascribe to this sentiment.

Thank you XBOX 360 players. Granted what will probably happen is at some point I'm just going to have to start skyrim all over again, because I pick it up I play for a zillion hours, don't quite get to the end and then DLC pops out, and I think "Huh I should go back there...." and then I'm like "I don't want to dive right into the middle I want to progress again" so once more level 1...it's a vicious cycle.

The xbox 360 has 512 MB of system memory. The PS3 does too, but it doesn't have a unified memory architecture, so it's divided 256MB for graphics 256 for system. That the 360 offers a little bit more flexibility in this respect isn't exactly a surprise. If anything this just lends criticism to the idea that this console generation has lasted too long. I mean think about that 256 MB of system memory, or 512 MB for that matter, it's nothing.

That would not make sense as its not exactly going to suddenly convince PS3 Skyrim players to buy a 360.

Bethesda has had issues with developing for the PS3 for a while, including severe problems with the release of Skyrim prior to this. I'm guessing that they just don't feel it's worth the cost of time to make the post release content playable on the PS3. Hell, it's buggy enough on the Xbox.

As for PC players crowing about how Xbox users beta testing it, your welcome.

The DLC is interesting I guess, but it's not for me. I like that they added farming and fishing though.

I'm gonna have to go ahead and say the first one is the only one worth looking at of those three if he's got any intention of gaming. Their CPU & memory stats etc are all pretty comparable but the 2nd one's GT620 and the 3rd's GT520 cards SUCK for gaming. Like they are just bad, really bad and especially in the face of a PC crusher like Skyrim can be. The first one's AMD7750 on the other hand is quite a contender, an excellent middle of the road card like the GTX560s were back when Skyrim came out.

I liked all 3, and the Shalebridge Cradle mission was pretty good. Not quite as Scary as F.E.A.R , but pretty good.

Colour_out_of_Space: As a player of Skyrim on PC, I'd like to thank X-Box 360 users for beta testing the first 2 DLCs.

This. They can continue play testing until I'm done with Assassin's Creed Revelations. Yes, I realize how behind I am.
