Just, wow. Doesn't Akin have handlers who can tell the difference between a satire website and a real one? Either they're retarded or they're just doing for the lulz. I'm leaning towards the former.

2012-09-08 03:28:02 PM
Mr. Akin loses, again.

There's no way Todd Akin or anyone working for his campaign is smart enough to recognize the quote from Bill Nye was satirical, and not real. So, this again, makes him look like a chode.

2012-09-08 03:31:01 PM
Been there.

It's slogan should be "The dumbest place on Earth".

2012-09-08 03:32:53 PM
Wait what? Akins thought the quote was real and then challenged Nye to a science debate?

Okay, that's farking hilarious.

There's more?

Nye has actually taken up the challenge?

To debate man who said (from the Creationist Museum no less)...

"Then we have this guy Bill Nye going around saying we can't teach the word of god to our children! Of course this angers god and that is what is causing these hurricanes."

This is gonna be awesome!

*popcorn*

This just in:

Senator Akin has recently become aware of a mass production facility. In what the Onion, a national newspaper, describes as an, "Abortionplex." Senator Akin would like to condemn Planned Parenthood's 8 billion dollar Abortionplex but feels this would play better if he could stand in front of the conveyer built filled with large, pregnant women being forced into abortions. Unfortunately, his Yahoo! search yielded no results and now he is reaching out to the public requesting an address for the Abortionplex.

Afterwards they can debate abstinence only education at the wet t-shirt contest...

2012-09-08 03:38:07 PM
The Examiner is citing this as their source, so I'm pretty sure this ain't really gonna happen.

2012-09-08 03:38:32 PM
Does Akin actually believe that a real scientist would be afraid to debate evolution in the Creation Museum? Let's do this.

2012-09-08 03:39:15 PM
I can't believe Akin's people are this stupid, this has to be a fake.

And you don't debate with crazy people. You treat them.

Ah. I know we've got some real crooks on capitol hill right now (as always), but it worries me when I consider that there might be people as truly stupid as Michelle Bachmann in large numbers there. It wouldn't bode well for a superpower.

Given how Nye has been acting as of late, I think he might actually accept the fake challenge.

2012-09-08 03:56:32 PM
Hmm, interesting. "Follow-up" satire to fictional quote from Bill Nye.
Not bad.
I want to see satirical follow-ups to satirical follow-ups, different websites continuing a story.

3 things you never do:

1. Never get involved in a land war in Asia.

2. Never go against a Sicilian when death is on the line

3. Never debate a Christian at a Creationist Museum.

Christians have faith. You can't debate faith. Simply not possible. You say "Here's proof that God doesn't exist" and they will say "God put that there to test our faith".

Aliens can come to Earth and show us videos of how the Earth was created, and how the Universe was formed, and how there is no omnipotence being in the Universe...and they will say "God is testing our faith".

So a bad fake article (claiming to be satire) got believed and passed around enough that someone made a different fake article about how one of the parties mentioned in the article believed it and responded and now people are believing and passing around that? I don't understand what is happening.

I'm soooo confused. Has the world of politics gotten so bad that the satire has caused reality but it might be satire since the reality has to cite the satire as the reason for the reality so then it may in the end all be one big satire setup since reality will never come to be

It's more than that, it's meta meta. The ultimate in self referencing.

Now we just need something from The Onion describing the debate.

Yeah, the part about the hurricanes tipped me off that it was BS. Akin's a piece of stupid, but there is zero chance his handlers would let him say something that wholeheartedly diptarded.

Ironic tag is that the Creation Museum is the most pro-evolution place on the planet. They stick with the Biblical reading that only two of each species went on Noah's Ark, and that all species have evolved since then. And then... somehow stopped once we started paying attention via the scientific method.

It would be funny as shiat. And if - excuse me when - Akin doesn't agree to the showdown, Bill can argue with an empty chair. "Conservatives" eat that shiat up.

Sure they would. The party has turned their back on him, so his handler is now some bumpkin that contributed big money to his campaign instead of someone who knows what he is doing.

TFA is satire, right?

They anger god with their gays in the military, lesbians on the Supreme Court, all this promiscuity in Hollywood and in music and on the streets. Then we have this guy Bill Nye going around saying we can't teach the word of god to our children! Of course this angers god and that is what is causing these hurricanes.

Right?

I know this is just a joke remark because Akin is only a member of the House at the moment. He is not a senator.

What's funny is that George Noory had Bill Nye on his program to talk about science vs. creationism. And Noory who tries so hard to not offend ANYONE who believes ANYTHING weird, is shocked that Bill Nye the Science Guy completely comes out IN FAVOR OF SCIENCE, and goes on to say that parents who teach creationism are damaging their children. Later in the week, Noory still recovering from Nye's extreme and uncompromising position.
