well if they got away with this i should be able to go all donald Trump with the toys i've scored off eBay that are clogging up my basement. dammit to hell, i've sold off shelves full of spongeBob several times because the collection got too big (code for the wife was freaking out). i even had a SB TV. dammit, i could've been somebody. i could've been a contender.

I remember seeing a commercial for these things on Nickelodeon. I thought it was fake but then went to the web address for the hell of it. After getting there I couldn't believe that someone would want to invest in spongebob molded bars.

/I thought it screamed some kind of scam

That's only about 2x the value of the silver at today's prices. Not bad when compared with some of the other stuff sold on TV, like those 9/11 coins "clad in 15mg of 24 KT pure gold and .999 Pure Silver".
