That's incredible. From the first picture, you can tell the photographer was standing pretty close and didn't flinch.

Imagine a farking tank parked just up the street from where you live and his main goal in life is to make you dead. Think about it.

The pixels are bothering me. Besides, there's about 1/1000th of a second between the first photo of the hit and the second, if that's real. What kind of camera you can carry can do that?

If I'm wrong, yes, amazing series of shots.

Maybe it's from a video and he just took the frames which caught the good action?

I hope people would just stop killing each other just because their governments ordered them to.

wait a minute, all those dudes were just minding their own damn business and shiat, not harming nobody. we see them, they're just working -- then they grab their guns, as would have been their 2nd Amendment right here in the States, but it's too late...

this is just this side of torture porn, man. do we really need to see people die in front of us, literally? I guess it proves a point, but these were real live dudes, not photo subjects.

Is it camera shots or digital shots? I expect shiat like this from camcorders, then you pick the best shots, but that's not what happened? what happens to the families of these innocent men?

This is the problem with war. Too many people who shouldn't die do.

Also, the motion blurring yet close time of the frames leads me to believe these are stills from a video.

Powerful shots regardless.

They were manning some kind of watch point, a tank showed up, one guy grabbed an RPG.
What happened next is not unpredictable.

Actually I misread that last bit, but I don't think the two shots were taken 1/1000s apart. It just looks that way because the rebels were standing roughly in the same positions.

Stills pulled from video footage. Still incredible. I have no doubt Shelton kept the camera rolling throughout, barely flinching--videographers are some courageous motherfarkers.

I'm tired of pictures of anyone killing each other.

I'm tired of thousands of people dying because a single man refuses to enjoy the wealth he's ALREADY taken from a country, and insists on others dying so he can keep taking MORE without end.

I'm a bit amazed at the fact that, even though Al Jazeera and others aren't shy about publishing the fact that the "rebels" are getting a lot of assistance from Al Qaeda, the vast majority of Western opinion wants the world and the US to assist the "rebels." (That's not even mentioning the idea that there are quite a lot of Syrian refugees stating in various publications that the "rebels" are inciting the violence and the government is simply reacting - dubious, but there are enough Syrians making the claim after getting out that it does warrant someone at least investigating the claims... which I have yet to see anyone do.)

I fully understand that one man's "rebel/terrorist" is another man's freedom fighter, and I don't excuse, condone, or support Assad and his tyrannical butchery, but dealing with Al Qaeda is never a case of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend," either.

For the United States to get involved in this, so long as Hezbollah and Al Qaeda are involved with the so-called "rebels," would be absolutely disastrous any way you look at it.

Don't you farking do that. Don't you belittle those brave people fighting and dying against an oppressive regime.

And they ARE fighting. They ARE not simply being slaughtered, they're sure as hell putting up a fight. Sure the odds are stacked against them, sure in this age of mechanized arms the state has a distinct advantage..... but you take your smug shiat and ask Gaddafi how that shiat worked out. Yeah, NATO helped, but NATO didn't fight for them. They still had to fight city by city until they won back their country. The Syrians are making a damn good try to do the same, and while they don't have NATO air support they're not letting that stop them.

So give those brave bastards in Syria some credit. They farking deserve it.

The enemy of your enemy is never your friend. Usually, he's also your enemy, just for different reasons.

You'd think we'd have learned that the FIRST time we were in Afghanistan, but noooooo.....

You'll also note that the NRA leadership is smart enough to let their idiot members try that government overthrow thing first before getting involved themselves.

The U.S. already is involved. They gave the "rebels" (mercenaries) Stingers paid for by the Saudis. The Saudi regime is far more oppressive and backward than Assad, but they sure seem to "influence" U.S. foreign policy in the region.
