Since the NFL starts this week, I'm gonna throw a great big "Who the hell cares?" into the conversation.

Going a take a wild guess and say "the chuckle-douche who took the time to comment on something he doesn't care about."

Ah, the rare two-pointer.

And I wonder if playing for the Liechtenstein national team isn't considered some form of punishment there.

How does Michael Carrick continue to play for Man U AND get England call ups? He is average at best.

Norway just got hosed on what should have been the equalizer. Unless I'm misunderstanding the offside rule. Can a player be called for offside if he never touches the ball?

At least the USMNT road qualifiers won't be on CCTV or PPV anymore.

Yes, if he affects the course of play. As I understand it.

Wales got out-and-out jobbed on that one tonight, although Belgium are better than I gave them credit for (and good, because I'd actually like to see them do well). And man, am I glad I strolled over to an Ireland stream in the 81st minute.

England stepped off the gas with 3-0 on the board after half an hour and never looked back. The lob to Fat Frank was superb.

Damn time flies. Also I didn't comprehend how many teams took part in qualifiers - I thought that all happened the same year as the tournament.

It's crazy. The Asian confederation started in June of last year. But when they only play like six weekends a year the qualification gets pretty spread out.

Unlike some championship series' with "World" in their name, the World Cup really is for the World. Every nation gets a shot. Qualification takes a while.

Why is there an apostrophe after series? I swear I didn't type that.

big congrats to Philaldelphia captain Carlos Vales on playing 90 in a HUGE win for Colombia tonight.

MLS all star and now back to the national team. Nice to see something going right for a Union player this year.

The Germany vs Faroe match was pretty damn awesome. I'm a Germany fan and wanted to see an arsekicking, but trust me, the 3-0 victory from German was a win for the Faroes. Their goal keeper was just top notch, he saved so many amazing shots. He was one of the few players on that team that thought they could win. Made for a great match

i actually found the channel Comcast was using for its beIn broadcast (543 in Houston) and am watching the U.S. -Jamaica game--I think. They are showing the score in the corner as Argentina 2-1 Paraguay in the second half. Considering that they just showed the same graphics in the last hour or so, I'm not sure what's going on.

The commentary is in Spanish. Nope, they are are showing the second half of Arg-Par.

/grumble

I found a ATDHEnettv link that has the US v Jamaica game in English.

So, Dempsey scores in the first minute of the match. I can't blame Comcast for not being able to watch it--this appears to be a Charlie-Foxtrot courtesy of Al-Jazeera (who owns beIn).

No prob.

BTW: I'm heading to the US v Jamaica game Tuesday in Columbus. Hopefully I'll be able to sneak a few tweets/posts from the game :)

Not the most scintillating of commentary, though.

The Arg-Par game is apparently live according to ESPN. beIn overlapped their scheduling? tsk tsk.

2012-09-07 08:53:09 PM
I still can't believe Jamaica scored that goal.

Also, how the hell does Beckerman start? He sucks, surely we have better midfielders. Ugh.

2012-09-07 08:59:58 PM
Considering that the Jamaica team has a couple of starting Houston Dynamo players on its team, I really wouldn't mind if they advanced to the World Cup finals--though not at the expense of the U.S.

/Think a draw would be the minimum acceptable for the U.S.

I'll settle for a draw.

C'mon US, get back in it.

US better get its act together by Tuesday, I don't want to drive 5 hours just to watch this sort of a performance. C'mon guys, just a lil more.

Did the U.S. even care about getting points from this game?

I think I read earlier that the US has only drawn in Jamaica, never won. Maybe they were hoping for that to just carry them over. Regardless, very poor showing by the US tonight.

2012-09-07 10:01:34 PM
US deserves that loss. Stupid fouls outside the box, playing too far back, and generally they played like shiat.

2012-09-08 12:27:43 AM
How do you lose to farkin Jamaica?!

2012-09-08 01:43:22 AM

HaywoodJablonski: How do you lose to farkin Jamaica?!

In Jamaica it's understandable (I mean, even Mexico has lost to Jamaica more than we have). However, anything less than three points on tuesday, and we are in deep shiat

\Not pushing the panic button.....but hand is definitely hovering over it

2012-09-08 03:25:40 AM
Horrible team selection in my opinion. How do you start Beckerman and sub in Brek Shea when you are actually trying to do well in the tournament? Both players have proven to be horrendous on the international scale. I blame team selection and the US players in general for not wanting to get points. Just an abysmal showing for them.
