I hate Obama's stance on drones and extra-judicial killings, although that's not a part of his platform I guess.

There is nothing in Romney's campaign that's laudable. All he is running on is empty conservative platitudes, he doesn't have anything concrete to praise because I'm sure as hell not praising supply-side economics and gay-hating policies.

Is this how low right wankers are willing to go to get a compliment, now?

Hate:

Romney sucked on the issue of gun rights as governor of MA.

Oh it wasn't the thread itself. One of the things I used to like about tfd is that it wasn't littered with tons of political garbage. Guess this election cycle is just getting me more annoyed than the last few have.

You can't post one thing.  You have to counterbalance it.  Just like a liberal to ignore the rule of law and just wing it on emotion.

The LAW? YOU MEANT GUBMINT REGULATIONS?

I don't like how campaign Obama bears little to no resemblance to President Obama.

I hate the constant Obama emails. It's impossible to unsubscribe.

I love that Mittens doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of ever being president.

I would add that I hate that the NSA and other agencies are spying on US citizens without probable cause. It may have started before Obama (Bush? Clinton? Reagan? Carter? Nixon?) but he definetly isn't stopping it from occurring on his watch.

I'll have to wait on Romney. If he loses in November I will love that.

2012-09-07 02:49:36 PM
Which "other", Romney or Obama?

2012-09-07 02:51:22 PM
I don't like how Obama has compromised with the republicans on several issues instead of blatantly calling them out in a national press conference, saying "THEY ARE WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS!". I also don't like how the war on drugs has been handled.

I like how Romney wants to eliminate capital gains for personal reasons, that would probably make me a shiat ton of money. It probably sucks for the country though.

2012-09-07 02:53:18 PM
I love the Rape-ublicans' emphasis on humiliating women. It's like SFW facial porn.

I hate the Democrats' penchant for telling the truth. It's like SFW slap and tickle porn.

I also like Romney's choice in pets. I mean every president gets a dog or a cat or whatever to seem normal. He is like fark that shiat, I have a god damn dancing horse.

Hate: No mention of getting rid of the Patriot Act

Love: Not a motherfarking thing. There isn't a single part of Romney's platform that I would want Obama to implement himself

I like some of the positions Romney used to hold before he started running for president 6 years ago. Does that count?

2012-09-07 03:09:14 PM
Hate: The fact that it took the dems this long to find their spine.

Love: All the lulz from the GOP.

Obama: Let capitalism run. This means no bailouts for anyone

2012-09-07 03:13:35 PM
Dammit, I messed up.
There is really nothing I like on Romney's side, because frankly, I have no clue what he stands for aside from tax reductions for the rich and intolerance.

I'm an Obama supporter.

I too am troubled that, while it's not part of his platform, he has remained silent on the Patriot Act and the most recent National Defense Authorization while campaigning.

I can't think of one thing at all about Romney's campaign OR platform I like. I'll come back if I can.

I will say in the most general and academic terms, I agree that when we abuse a system we should let that system adjust and return to its steady state on its own. Interfering in a system to force it back to a steady state can cause more problems than it solves. But it's just not realistic or humane when applied to the real world. Real people suffer while we wait for the system to self-correct.

2012-09-07 03:24:25 PM
As Obama said earlier in this campaign, I'm a big fan of Romney's healthcare plan. It's got me covered at a time when I wouldn't be otherwise.

And as Clinton pointed out in his speech, the Republicans have really got the Sincere, Approachable Candidate thing down. They've got it down so well they're almost like Stepford candidates. Obama's campaign has the grit of realism but not the charm, not as much as it could. They could use some finesse.

Also not saying the crazy african is working on a plot to take our guns, but I generally don't favor much gun control. I am not sure I remember Romney ever talking about this but I imagine his position would be more in line with mine.

I also like the idea of SOME spending reductions and reduced regulation. The state of Ohio (under a republican governor) setup a hotline and agency specifically to reduce dumb ass regulations. Basically if your business is jumping through hoops over some stupid shiat you call them and they look into fixing it. One example that they have accomplished is allowing businesses to buy bulk quantities of liquor for production where previously they had to buy it from the liqueur store like you or me. As an example, A company that makes ice cream with I believe Jim Beam in it can now buy it direct from the plant for 1/3 the cost in large quantities vs buying cases and cases of bottles of it from the store, saving pretty much everyone involved time and money.

I don't like that Obama has continued the war on drugs.

I like that Romney, in his heart, is a practical and moderate problem solver.

2012-09-07 03:33:00 PM
Hate: Obama campaign mailing me too many letters to contribute more money.

Love: Romney campaign providing comedy gold quips, screw-ups, bad calls, outright lies to rail on.

"Hate" is a strong word, and many people have already posted good reasons to have differences with the Obama administration, but if I have to "hate" something, it's the exact opposite of the Romney campaign, so I guess it's a good fit:

I loathe the "start with a rational middle ground idea, settle by moving to the right to appease wingnuts" approach. Either start in the middle and stand firm, or start as far left as the right does, and move center. I hope, if Obama wins, more aggression comes out in the second term (though that would prove the "OMG! HE'LL KILLS US ALLS WITH SOSHULIZMS!" crowd partly correct, I guess).

I have to say that, as I watch it being used successfully and setting aside whether I agree with the goal, I almost have to like the "give voice to the crazy, shout down any objection, cry victim / 'shoved down our throats!' at anyone who dares want to do something you don't like, and completely divorce yourself from any need to use, you know, *facts*" approach. I'd have a slightly-greater-than-zero hope for the world if far leftists and *actual* socialists were given as much legitimate coverage as the drooling, astro-turfed TPers are.

Now, setting aside "like," part of me actually *envies* the ability to be a completely selfish, utterly empathyless sociopath. I imagine the world is a better place if you are unable to imagine someone being right when they disagree with you, suffering in a way you've never suffered, thinking every thought that goes through your head (factually correct or not) is legitimate, etc. That must be nice.

I hate all the requests for money from the Obama campaign.

I like that Mitt's campaign hasn't asked me for money yet.

FYI and everybody else, President Obama Executive Order 13563, Improving Regulation and Regulatory Review, to report silly and/or stupid rules and regulations on the federal side for review. The President signed that order on 18 Jan 2011.

For you all to bookmark it, here's the Regulations.Gov website to research federal rules, directives, and regulations; to provide guidance on how to best recommend changes, and to submit proposals to the appropriate agency.

I hate that Obama hasn't taken a harder stance on protecting civil liberties.

I love that Romney/Ryan is breaking ground by being the first presidential ticket ever not to include a Protestant.

pisceandreamer: Dems: I wish they'd seriously get a spine.

GOP: Great hair.

We have great spines. That's just a lie that the Republicans have been shilling for years. Probably started when President Carter didn't nuke Iran for taking our embassy staff hostage back in 1979 and just went with the Desert One mission instead.

Besides, lying like the GOP has been doing for years doesn't mean they have more courage or spines. It just means they're stupid, like Bush II and his stooges.

"Tricks and treachery are the practice of fools, that don't have brains enough to be honest." ~ Benjamin Franklin
