Romney didn't thank the troops in his speech.

It takes 2-3 minutes. It is...like Political Speeches 101 shiat right there. You always praise the military and the working class and give them promises you never deliver. And he failed it.

And this guy wants to be President?

He needs to watch Rocky IV again and see how Rocky wins over the Soviet crowd. Not with his punches or money, but by his sheer git and determination to win.

In Romney's defense, these are simply figments of the Lie-beral media created to distract him from the real issues of running for President. Really, you think there are poor people in America? He's not seen a single one in his daily travels from the compound to the marina. Military troops? Obviously a concoction of Hollywood used to trump up patriotism, but since he has all he needs, he'd rather not acknowledge this fictitious demographic. In all his travels from the Mansion in Nantucket and through the airports, he's not seen a single Military personnel. He has seen a lot of police, which are needed, but Military? Come on, whose leg are you trying to pull here! You have to get up pretty early in the morning to fool ole Mitt.

If my memory serves me right. In the GOP debates Romney at one point said he didn't watch/read something and in the next sentence clarified what he didn't watch/read. I'm sure I can find the reference.

A pity he's dead, the only thing that would have made thing convention better was JB up on stage with a full brass section as the president walked down the aisle, screaming into a microphone "Hnnhh! Say it loud! I'm for Barack and I'm Proud HEH!"

What I find funny is the Rmoney machine has been going on for months and months that Oboma can't run on is record and that is the reason for all the attack ads against him. Now that the DNC has spent the last week running on its record they lost that talking point. In the meantime the RNC did nothing but bash Obama and didn't spend 5 minutes talking policy. All they have left is attack ads because they don't have a record to run on or a policy platform they want to talk about.

I really don't know if this gigantic ad buys are really worth it. I mean, at a certain point you just HAVE to reach a saturation point, and all money spent after that is just people getting irritated that they are listening to yet another goddamn radio or TV ad.

If there are people out there that haven't made up their minds yet...what are the chances that those people actually care enough about politics to go bother to vote?

The difference is that it never seems genuine with the GOP does it.

Might be my perception that the best way to support our troops is to minimize the creation of situations where they will be in harms way. That's something the GOP seems to not care much about these days.

There's some parallels to their dichotomy between being "pro-life" before someone is born and then figuring their on their own after, except kinda in reverse.

That was really something wasn't it? What a script-flip from the usual way this stuff goes: The republicans bemaoning the state of the country and talking about it being in decline, The Dems cheering military actions and chanting "U-S-A! U-S-A!"

Biden almost got me to the point of being uncomfortable when he went on about having to kill Bin Laden to "heal America's heart", and the bloodthirsty cheers about his death that he elicited.

I still don't understand how attacking Obama for not doing enough of what he promised makes a case for voting for Romney, when Romney wants to undo everything Obama has done and double down on Bush Era policies.

The Romney campaign might be fully committing to a strategy of suppressing democratic turnout through demoralization. They definitely seem to be trending that way.

Very low. Maybe it's because I'm just a biased libtard, but I don't see how the choice this year is any less clear than it was in 2008. Obama is not perfect, and he hasn't hit every note in his administration I would have liked him too, but the idea that replacing him with Mitt Romney makes better sense is just absolute lunacy to me.

Steve LEVITT: When a candidate doubled their spending, holding everything else constant, they only got an extra one percent of the popular vote. It's the same if you cut your spending in half, you only lose one percent of the popular vote. So we're talking about really, really large swings in campaign spending with almost trivial changes in the vote.

They already put out a new ad yesterday saying Bill Clinton finds it disgraceful that Obama in destroying his legacy of the work requirement for welfare and how Obama has destroyed the bipartisan accomplishment that was welfare reform. Yes, they put this out the day after Clinton spent minutes bashing this claim as a lie and saying that Obama's riders strengthen welfare reform not weaken it.

It seems like there are very few undecideds. I think the ads are mostly designed to motivate each side's voters or disillusion the other side into staying home. It's not undecided voters that are being targeted, it's the purity trolls who think that a Romney presidency will be so terrible as to magically usher in progtopia, or that an Obama win will finally prove to the establishment GOP that America is screaming for a real conservative like Sam Brownback.

FTFA:

Mitt Romney accused President Barack Obama of trying to institute a "promises reset" instead of explaining to the country why he had not delivered on the goals he vowed to accomplish in his first term.

This is why Romney hasn't said sh*t or promised sh*t...so when he gets nothing done and nothing changes he can just say "Well, I didn't break any promises. I have done what I said I would do...which is nothing."

Or if he does somehow someway get elected, when the Dems run against him in 2016 they can't hold his feet to any fire, because he hasn't said what he will do. Just empty generic platitudes.

But at this point, there are just a few undecided swing voters left, everybody else already knows how they are going to vote. No amount of facts or truthiness is gonna change their minds.

A family member just posted to FB that she is doesn't follow politics and she is done with FB until after the election. Great...that is exactly what the powers that be want. Yes, please don't pay attention to what we do. We will be good.

Not entirely fair. The DNC was on CNN, Faux, MSNBC, PBS and CSPAN (and probably others) compared to one channel for football.

And it was the same idea - Southern hate of the Giants / President Fart McFartstain.
