The speeches this week were pretty good, but I didn't think they'd send Republicans into this sort of desperate, panicked tailspin.

Fun to watch.

I think you've underestimated the penchant for desperate panic favored by Republicans. It is, after all, their entire platform. Well, that and tax cuts. Desperate panic and tax cuts. Oh, and also fear. So, desperate panic, tax cuts and fear. That's the Republican platform.

Oops, I forgot: Obama is a commie. So, their entire platform is desperate panic, tax cuts, fear and Obama is a commie. I think that covers it.

I read somewhere recently that Obama wants to make Christianity illegal, and pass a law that only allows homosexuals to raise children.

Studying language can be very interesting, even the rhetorical equivalent of diarrhea teaches a thing or two. That article was a great example.

My cousin talked to this guy who heard from a very reliable source that Obama also wants to force abortions on white Christian women unless they agree to hand over their baby to be raised as muslim. I am praying for this country.

Some people also say that Obama has already ceded control of the military to the UN.

There are indeed code words (dog whistles) if you will used by the DNC and this could have been an interesting topic for a real news web-site or anyone who wasn't a complete partisan hack.

Here's a code word the DNC uses quite a bit: "people"

It reminds people of quite a few important elements in the DNC platform and how the DNC can actually win elections.

Obama's speech with translated dog whistles
"Now, the first time I addressed this convention in
2004, I was a younger man; a Senate candidate from Illinois ZOMG CHICAGO POLITICS who
spoke about hope, not blind optimism or wishful thinking, but
hope in the face of difficulty; hope in the face of uncertainty;
that dogged faith Islam in the future which has pushed this nation
forward Marxism!, even when the odds are great; even when the road is
long."

"But when all is said and done, when you pick up that ballot
to vote I'm going to launch a military coup you won't have a choice, you will face the clearest choice of any time in a
generation. Over the next few years, big decisions will be made
in Washington, on jobs, the economy; taxes and deficits; energy,
education communist indoctrination of our children; war and peace Russian literature classes will be mandatory, decisions that will have a huge impact
on our lives and our children's lives for decades to come.
And on every issue, the choice you face won't be just
between two candidates or two parties YOU REALLY WON'T HAVE A CHOICE.
It will be a choice between two different paths for
America.
A choice between two fundamentally different visions for
the future.
Ours is a fight to restore the values that built the
largest middle class and the strongest economy the world has
ever known. Oh Rise up my Black Army!"

If you have to redefine the entire vocabulary on the topic to make your point, you might just be lying.

There are two Koreas. ROK stands for "Republic of Korea." DPRK stands for "Democratic People's Republic of Korea." Does anyone need to be told which one is North Korea?

I imagine that quite a few of the people who frequent American Thinker couldn't tell you which of those is North Korea. And I'm definitely sure that most of them couldn't find it on an unlabeled map.

From the article:
""Forward," closely tied to the idea of "progress," is a well-known leftist battle cry, rooted in Marxist dialectical materialism, with its notion of history's inexorable march towards the workers' paradise. "Forward" has a distinguished pedigree among communists and socialists."

That article was pretty long to try and explain two "dog whistle" phrases. And then, only to translate them into "socialism" which is a dog-whistle phrase of the right, intended to imply communism.

That's... pretty pathetic.

I tried to read the article looking for examples of DNC using code words and instead found a long, incoherent ramble about euphemisms and Orwell. I saw one stated example that any references to future thinking is a tactic of Soshulism, therefore Obama's FORWARD slogan is direct nod-wink to Maoism. Then again, so would Chairman Reagan's New Tommorrow under the same strained logic.
