(BBC)   I've noticed a tendency for threads to get rather silly. Now I do my best to keep things moving along, but I'm not having things getting silly. Now, let's have a good, clean, healthy outdoor thread. Get some air into your lungs   (bbc.co.uk) divider line 48

Now, nobody likes a good laugh more than I do... except perhaps my wife and some of her friends... oh yes and Captain Johnston. Come to think of it most people likes a good laugh more than I do. But that's beside the point.

I had the pleasure of meeting him back in 1987 when he spoke at Rutgers, just before he was
diagnosed.

A great loss, far too young, especially when you consider how many demons he'd put behind him.

Probably for the best that they had to come up with their own plaque. I'm sure anything authorized by the government would not have been nearly that awesome.

Coelacanth: A Liar's Autobiography - Official Trailer Link

I noticed the distinct lack of Eric Idle in that film. I suppose he has enough "fark you" money from Spamalot to never work with the rest of them again, living up to his self-described reputation as the sixth-most-likeable Python.

He spoke at my school (Clark University) too. I had an autographed poster that said, 'With Startlingly good wishes.'

Great guy and utterly hillarious.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Graham Chapman and Terry Jones were the solid backbone of the troupe. The others were funny, and I love them all, but they were more flashy and attention-whory and Chapman and Jones just kept doing solid, amazingly subtle absurdist comedy.
