AverageAmericanGuy: I thought it was aluminum in deodorants that was causing it.Have I quit using deodorant for nothing?
MmmmBacon: Both grandparents died of Alzheimers.Mother died of Alzheimers.Aunt has early-onset Dementia.I sleep maybe 3 to 5 hours a day, quite fitfully.... So I most certainly am not getting a kick out of these replies...
A General Disdain For All Of Humanity: Brought to you by the makers of Ambien?/Better living through chemistry.//The CPAP helped. Still tossing and turning.
TomD9938: Timely headline subby, seeing as how I've got to be up in three hours.Plus, I've got to be up in three hours.
enderthexenocide: one thing i've always been good at is sleeping. i'm like an expert at sleeping. if sleeping was an olympic sport, i would win the gold every time. waking up on time, however, i'm not so good at.i sleep like the dead for three main reasons. first, i never ever take naps, i stay awake all day until its time for bed. two, i work a very physical job and it really wears me out. and third, i don't think that caffeine effects me at all, i'm immune to it or something.
JackieRabbit: I've read at least 10 things that are supposedly early signs of Alzheimer's in the last year. So spin the wheel and see what we get for next week.Everyone develops beta amyloid plaques on their brain throughout the course of their lives. We will all eventually become demented to some degree. Alzheimer's victims develop the plaques very rapidly and begin showing signs of dementia before the sixth decade of life. An 80 year old granny who gets confused and has trouble remembering is not suffering from Alzheimer's; she's just old and that's the way it is.
The One True TheDavid: I don't get that. Why live someplace where you can't smoke inside? Or why not just quit? Or dedicate a room to smoking and stick an exhaust fan in the window?By the way, there should be smoking bars and nonsmoking ones, or two separate rooms in one bar. (I'd go to which ever side was most fun myself; generally speaking smokers are less inhibited.) When they started that antismoking campaign I just quit going to bars, and by the time I quit smoking I'd learned how much cheaper (& less annoying) it is to drink at home. And at home I can drink all I want and pass out on the floor if I feel like it.Now that I'm aware of the difference in air quality at home, when I have a smoker over I'll open a window and maybe set a fan in the open window pointing outside. Weather permitting: if it's too damn cold to open a window I'll just put up with the smoke, it won't kill me.Fark that going outside to smoke shiat: if somebody's good enough to allow in my lair they're too good to freeze or get drenched just because of their bad habit. I'm not going to go out in bad weather to drink when I go see my sister, y'know.
