Do I even want to know what a "Spare-On" is?
Would it embarrass me if I saw it??
Would the TSA give you grief if you had one while they were searching you??

I find it hard to believe that there is anything that would embarrass you QJ

Overabundance of distractions, duties needing doing. Our vet Dr Deb who I requested to e micromedic direct, uses the fabric cones exclusively, may have some tips & hints, also sources. Forgot already who said they've at least 1 extra. But that was perzactly what I intended.
Pattern wasn't complete, like the signage for the remote my-chorus Guest Nights coming later this month. Without the fark pic-size limits, should be feasible to draw & scan entire pattern, tho maybe in pieces.
I've never made one; this is the barbershop-engineering principle raising its ooogly head once more.

Ugh. Hubby tossed out some meat this weekend without 1) telling me and 2) considering the heat. I just opened the can and had a rain of maggots hit the floor! *shudders* Then I had to play 'catch the wriggling mass of ewww' while also fending off two very curious and hungry cats!

Methinks Hubby and I are going to have a little talk when he gets home. Especially as, this morning, he collected garbage from other rooms in the house to take down to the waste container.

2 excellent trip-overs en route here for those who don't bookmark working Caturday (I really should but then wd miss items like these!): commemorative Alan Turing WW2 London Monopoly set. Gurgle's giving 1000 sets to Bletchley Park a) where all the historic code-breaking activity was, & Codes & Ciphers Museum/Centre is & b) where Radio Society of Gt Britain has set up a site, the Radio Centre of Gt Britain. (Got a leaflet from RSGB at Dayton last yr or this on that but was only 89% sure of it).
Followed immediately by Online cat culture is serious business, from boingboing which I used to visit weekly & oughta resume doing.

OMG. ew. I have a similar but stinky story:

Last year, I did the grocery shopping and Mr. Pie unloaded the car and forgot one bag in the trunk. I didn't notice for a few days until something really horrible started to smell in my car. I searched the entire car and found the culprit. A package of chicken. I threw it in the dumpster and took my car straight to the car wash and had them wash it inside and out.

I needs to vent a bit here...(and yes, it's regarding a cat).

My group home has a house cat, "Charlie". She is a stray who took over the place 8-10 years ago and was spayed after she had one litter (8 kittens...musta been some night on the town!).
Spiky, irritable, doesn't pull her punches, and they come with claws. Don't try to pet her unless SHE invites you to do so...but she's their cat and they love her. She's chosen one of the residents as her particular human...and...how shall I put this nicely...he's the one that benefits most from having this unconditional love and acceptance.

Lately she's been sick...vomiting and diarrhea. You'd think they'd take her to the vet...but the manager has made foot-dragging into an artform...and trying to crate Charlie up for a trip is asking for trouble, to put it mildly.

I've been bugging about "Can you please call the housevisiting vet?" and I get put off with 'Not knowing what it will cost' and 'Who's gonna pay for it?'...questions that can be answered with ONE call to the main office.
Finally, after hearing this subject chewed over ALL FARKIN' WEEKEND, I'd had enough.

Told the manager I'd make the call, get the price...and I did. Made an appointment as well. Told him if there was trouble about payment, I'd cover it (although I should not have to do this).
What really pissed me off was him muttering something about taking Charlie to the pound because he was tired of dealing with stuff coming out at both ends.

GRRRRRR.... if he had called the vet when this first started happening (about three weeks ago now) he wouldn't have HAD this problem...and how about, next time YOU get sick, we just ignore it until we're tired of it, and then take YOU in to have you put down?

Sorry...this just chaps my hide. I know I'm a crazy cat lady, and my cats probably receive more attention to their health than one might consider 'usual'...but to see a treatable condition ignored like this just pisses me off.

Thanks for letting me unload...I'll probably tell ya'll next week about how the visit went. Hope Charlie can get to feeling better soon...diarrhea and vomiting aside, she is probably not a very happy cat right now.

tigerose: Good Meowning! You folks were busy last night! Awesome. I had a singing gig, then came home and ate/crashed.

On the subject of wierd feline behavior..my old cat Aiko would cry and bite at me when I sang. And Eli has been known to stick his head in hubbies mouth..i guess to see where the snores are coming from??

One time I took my 6 year-old 'nephew' Alex to visit my then-boyfriend and his cat Hara.
Alex had the most enchanting laugh as a child...and Hara was fascinated by it. She came right up to where he was sitting, stood on his legs and nearly put her head into his mouth to see where that entrancing sound was coming from.
Alex was kinda scared by this...he's good with animals, but he'd never had one react that way to him before.

syzygy whizz, regret if my whining about the trivial batter/matter of the busted bundt set you off in any way.
You needed to vent anyhow. Mgr sounds a bit less than Responsible, imho.
Needing some info from CA kept me on phone longer than I would've liked, & handset cord from primary landline, tho coily, isn't long enough to let me be on computer at same time.
Picked up some more disconcerting info re govt svcs, now that I've qualified for Medicare. Meds are supposed to be picked up, also testing supplies for my very longstanding Type 1 diabetes, in exchange for more logging requirements & cutback in permitted use. grrrr booo hissss. Better shaddap before I say something else I'll regret.

syzygy whizz, you only came across as "set off" in your highly justified vent. I'm almost as quick as Speedy Gonzalez to Assume Blame for what may not be my fault at all. Had a Feeling I coulda shoulda used PAM on the pan, then that turned out to be advice after the fact. Next Time, if there is one. May not be one!
Realised also today's the 10th, & what tomorrow's the anniv of. Read it called "Day of Service & Remembrance" a few years back, & retained that where I could find it again. Less wieldy than Patriots' Day, but to my mind maybe more aot.
Need to leave for chori in ~15 min, so best wrap this. 3 wks of Guest Nights begin this eve, with the following 2 in a Remote Location due to Jewish High Holy Days. Need to pack a batch of stuff to take with, that we'll need/be able to use.
