Prepare your assholes, GOP.

No, their only hope is that enough of their voter suppression efforts go through that they can squeak out a win. Unfortunately, with the courts castrating those efforts in Florida, Texas and Ohio, it doesn't look like that will work either.

At some point, you have to sort of feel sorry for Romney. Always the bridesmaid, never the groom...

I don't feel sorry for Romney. But considering how much money he has, he can buy my pity for $1,000.00 per hour.

Yes, but are they castrating them fast enough to be on time for election day?

Look, as much as I'd like to be optimistic, the economists who predict unemployment numbers are usually dead wrong.

No, I don't feel sorry for him at all. He will live a very good life, his kids and his grandkids are financially set and if his biggest disappointment in life is that he got to be the GOP nominee in 2012 but didn't win...then he's really goddamn lucky.

True. I don't think jobs are going to take off. Mostly because corporations would rather do ANYTHING AT ALL instead of hiring more people, and American workers are so beaten-down that they'll do the jobs of three people but get the pay of 3/4ths of one.

July, 2012 Job Report Predictions Median: 100K
Actual: 164K

June 2012 Job Report Prediction Median: 97,500
Actual: 80,000

May 2012 Job Report Prediction Median: 150,000
Actual: 69,000

I could go on. Seriously, I don't recall the last time the median predictions got within 10% of the actual number.

I seem to recall that Silver suggested the average number of jobs the predictions miss by is like 75,000. Whatever the predictions are, you can safely assume they are badly wrong.

August 2012 Projected GOP Butthurt: High

September 2012: Projected GOP Butthurt: High

It's the only metric that matters.

Does this mean that Freeper Friday will consist of the predictable "It doesn't account for the people who stopped looking for jobs" and "the true numbers are being suppressed" rhetoric? We get it, he's black.

2012-09-06 03:17:31 PM
But remember, any number below 500,000 is unacceptable.

2012-09-06 03:18:41 PM
The job numbers will come out, then they will be 'revised' downward next week. That's how it always happens.

There's only one problem: job numbers are projected to skyrocket.

Not fast enough!!! We should be down to 5% unemployment by now! Hence vote Mitt Romney.

GOP Response: Lie and project their weaknesses.

2012-09-06 03:18:56 PM
Of course they're going to skyrocket. Right after Fartbongo is voted out.

True. I don't think jobs are going to take off. Mostly because corporations would rather do ANYTHING AT ALL instead of hiring more people, and American workers are so desperate beaten-down that they'll do the jobs of three people but get the pay of 3/4ths of one.

Well it's desperation that causes them to take the jobs of three people for less pay. But yea pretty much. The recession required corporations to ask their workers do more with less. When the recession ended for the corporations, they realized hey, our workers can do more for less.

By the way - if you are a corporation, the recession ended long ago. There is no reason other than corporate greed why it has not ended for the rest of us.

Well, Mitt Romney is going to create 12 MILLION jobs in his first term, so Obama is going to have to work pretty freaking hard to make up THAT difference before election day.

How's things over in Bizarro World?

The numbers, since you haven't pulled your head out of your ass long enough to check, actually are the opposite. They're always 'revised', as you so eloquently put it, upward.

Isn't this a weird campaign? I mean, I understand attacking the incumbent for a weak economy but Romney's people makes stuff like this seem believable.

Edsel: Well, Mitt Romney is going to create 12 MILLION jobs in his first term

Which isn't that crazy a claim - he just needs to slightly increase Obama's current rate of job creation and he's kosher.

Yeah, lets vote for the party who wants to protect tax benefits to companies who send jobs overseas instead.

Sorry if I don't take your sincerity seriously.

Why should we EVER count the people that "stopped looking for jobs?"

"Well, I'd LIKE a job, but...I just got fed up with going to fill out all of those applications and never getting a call back, so...I guess I'll just sponge off of my parents until someone calls me asking me if I'd like a job."

These are the bootstrappy people that the GOP want to woo over to their side?

I almost want Mitt to win, in order to watch his philosophy go down in flames.

But then I remember Obamacare and SCOTUS appointments and VoucherCare.

The Romney campaign will probably call the editors of The Onion to complain and deny and threaten, thinking they've actually been found out.

You guys are just being ridiculous and making shiat up and you all know damn well that's not what the GOP is going to say. The GOP is going to say:

Corporations are creating jobs in anticipation of a Mitt Romney presidency and a Republican controlled Congress. DUH.

I think if the events of the last 30 years have shown us anything, it's that no matter how hard the Republican ideology fails, they'll just take it as evidence they need to keep doubling down on it.

It's a testament to the strength of the American Spirit that we can still persevere despite having to bear the heavy yoke of Obama's regulations and taxation.

It makes you wonder - the harder right they go, they also get more resolute in that change. So not only are they like 70% fascist now, they're also about 80% sure that they're right and won't back down.

Keep moving those goalposts, American Taliban, and keep doubling down on them too. I am sure it will not hurt you in the future.

you should hope the general population never hears about the platform vote yesterday at the convention. Half the delegates screaming against having God mentioned in the platform or acknowledging Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. That was quite shocking, and I can understand that it won't show up on Fark or the MSM.

better hope it doesn't become a campaign ad...

shocking, I tell ya. SHOCKING!

It is a shame that the GOP faithful like randomsja and tenpondsofcheese must pray for failure in the economy for Rmoney to have any chance at all.
