So they can finally remove whatever is in his mouth that makes him talk like he has something in his mouth.

Last night, he appeared on Sean Hannity's Fox News show."

"An MSNBC spokesperson tells TVNewser, 'On the set of 'Morning Joe' this morning, Tom Brokaw felt light-headed. Out of an abundance of caution, he was taken to a hospital and is being evaluated.'"

"This marks the first time that 'Fox News' and 'abundance of caution' have been used together."

One of the last newsmen, as opposed to newsman/entertainers, I'm looking at you, Matt Lauer and Brian Williams.

We need to keep that guy on the planet as long as possible.

Did he also almost forget Obama was black like Mathews did?

Aw, I hope he's okay. Back in the go go 80s my mom and I were watching the news and a giant booger flew out of his nose and landed on his lapel. It just sat there while he read the news. My mom pointed out that it was very white. It was gone when they came back from commercial. Years later I realized that it was probably a little clump of coke. (Hey, it was the 80s and I bet cocaine helps someone read the news better until they pull a Jessica Savitch) I always wondered if my mom had any idea what it could've been.

Stewart sapped the lifeforce from him.

He's growing in power - soon no news outlet can hold him back...no matter how main or lamestream.

It's possible to read the news while high on coke? I once saw a weather man who had a problem with cocaine and it was pretty damn obvious.

CNN just reported he was stoned on ambien.

Well, if he felt light headed after hearing Clinton's speech, Brokaw will probably just float away tonight when Obama speaks.

Dan Rather still looking for the frequency.

I see the appropriate SNL references have already been covered.

Tom Brokaw gave the commencement speech at my graduation from Penn in 1995. He had absolutely nothing to say. The only thing I remember from his speech is an extraordinarily lame joke about how he had to remind himself that he wasn't at Penn State.

2012-09-06 10:37:32 AM
That's odd. Tom never has a second cup of coffee at home.

Back in the good ol' days they would have put him on a fainting couch and treated him with smelling salts.
No wonder health care is so damned expensive!

Putting an actual journalist on Hannity's show seems dangerous. Isn't that kind of like mixing matter and anti-matter?

Brokaw created a mythology over a set of people he coined "the greatest generation". I'm sorry, but for one to determine that those who went to war, survived a depression, is not necessarily what I would call great - especially when you consider that the generation itself continued to racially discriminate until the law forced them to comply. The very fact that Brokaw hailed them for their accomplishments was in itself jingoistic. Don't be fooled. Brokaw is the king of subtle wargarble.

Back in the good ol' days mercury was used to treat syphilis and surgeons carried out procedures in their street clothes without washing their tools between working on corpses and treating living patients. Medicine has advanced a bit, and sudden dizziness or fainting could be a sign of a serious problem. Heart trouble isn't the most likely thing, but it's worth getting checked out.

I read it more as the network basically made him go to the hospital, but the wording is ambiguous.

It's good to know that any American can get "an abundance of care" when it comes to their health.

Oh wait, what?

He overdosed on caution.
