The trucker/monkey remake will have BJ and the Bear encounter Philo and Clyde, and team up for adventures that involve rescuing hot kidnapped women out of the backs of semis and then fist-fighting their abductors.

Yuppie & The Alien:

Announcer: This fall, a new hard-hitting police drama is coming to Friday night. He was a well to-do cop, transferred to a trouble precinct Downtown. His new partner is a space traveler, with a passion for justice. It's Yuppie and the Alien.
Captain: Look! You may vaporize dissidents in Alpha Centauri, but in this precinct, we do things by the book!
Yuppie: I'm so terribly sorry, captain.
Gogan: Nah. Gogan sorry!
Announcer: Don't miss this one of a kind police drama. They're fighting crime the hard way, in designer clothes, with a quarter of a million dollar sports car, and a UFO.
Yuppie: Partner, let's go cruise in the car and look moody.
Announcer: One tough Downtown precinct, two outsiders, doing things their way, Yuppie and the Alien, on VBC.

As long as he doesn't hire Damon Lindelof for it. Unless he actually wants another long, convoluted examination of "Faith vs Reason" that makes no sense, resolves nothing, and ends badly.

I would think that Will Smith would have done better as Lije Bailey, more drama inherent than whatever they tried with I, Robot. I've never seen that movie, only the odd bit here and there, but never the whole thing. What fan of Caves wouldn't love to see the chase on the tiers of moving sidewalks?

rocky_howard: Yuppie & The Alien:

while we're on the subject, here's my favorite:

Narrator: He was a man of peace, living on a quiet farm in North Dakota.
Till one day all hell broke loose! (Gun shots are heard)

Soldier: Tim we need you!

Tim: I'm a man of peace, I'm done killing! I wanna raise a family!

Soldier: That's just it Tim! They got your family!

Tim: Nooooo!

Narrator: Jack Howitzer is Tim in Exploder! From the heart of America to
the jungles of Cambodia, follow one man's quest for peace.

Tim: Hoo Chi Fat is that you?

Hoo Chi: Tim I know you come! Just like old days we kill everybody!

Soldier (in helicopter): Tim they got your wife!

Tim: But I'm not married!

Soldier: You are now... to America!

Narrator: He went in to save his country, but found his family and lost
a friend. (Gun shot)

Tim: Hoo Chi!

Hoo Chi: Tim don't leave me! You taught me baseball game and how to
laugh!

Tim: Nooo! He would have been a fine American. (sniff) I'll cry when I'm
done killin!

Narrator: Get your self a body bag, strap your self in, start making
friends... the American way! Exploder: Evacuator Part 2! Rated PG may
include patriotic garbage.

FlashHarry: Hoo Chi: Tim don't reave me! You taught me baseball game and how to
