WAHOO is Kevin Ogletree?

Good question.

Remember when you drafted Ogletree in the fifth round and everyone laughed at you? Guess who is laughing now.

It was one game. Could be that he is a one-game wonder. But yeah, I will be putting in a waiver claim on him.

Week 4 question: "Why the fark did I pick up that LOSER instead of Marcedes Lewis?!"

Yeah, I think he'll be covered a little more tightly in the fuure. And with the replacement refs anything short of a colonoscopy seems to be legal for the DB's.

Meh, probably just a one game wonder. My biggest fantasy concern is whether or not I made a mistake in starting Matt Ryan over Tony Romo this week.

Nobody had Kevin Ogletree on their fantasy team. Kevin Ogletree's dad didn't have Kevin Ogletree on his fantasy team.

Not trying to hate on the guy, but I'm sure Ogle Kevintree and Tree Kevinogle would also have nice days if lined up against Michael Coe and Justin Tryon.

Don't worry - Di Atribe will be here shortly to tell us all who Kevin Ogletree is. :)

And I have to hand it to the Cowboys - that was a very well-executed game plan outside of the constant false start penalties. Good on them.

Injuries are part of the game. When starters go down and back up to the back up CB has to play a lot when there's 3 WR sets, the third WR will probably have a good day. Or do stats only count when you're matched up against Revis?

Those are a Cowboys OL tradition. That and not playing well in the cold.

Very true. If I were an OL coach, there would be a standing rule that committing a false start penalty means you'll run four laps in practice the next day. If you commit two, you will run until you throw up. And if you commit three, you will then run some more.

You really need to ask?

Let's see...slightly shaken, frequent top 3 rusher, who's back on full practice duties as of today vs one of the many heads of the hydra that is the Saints ground game.

I'd be playing AP just so I wouldn't be tearing my hair out every time Ingram got a carry.

Look, I just really want to make fun of the Giants secondary, who as whole (so even the "established veterans" like Webster and Rolle) were pretty terrible last night, ok? Leave your reason and logic out of this.

I picked him up this morning on a whim because why not and because autodraft, in it's infinite wisdom, game me two defenses for some reason. I don't know who can afford to carry two defenses in the first farking week but it ain't me.

2012-09-06 11:37:23 AM
After reading some of the fantasy geek comments last night I put in a waiver on him too. The Cowboys have a history of hitting their 3rd wide out in tough situations...Just look at what happened with Miles Austin and Laurant Robinson the last few years. Could be a one game wonder (It was his best ever) or he could be in for another one of those 800-1000 yard seasons with 8 TDs.

Let them blow waiver picks on him. He had a great game. A career game, one might say.

He's still a #3 guy.

/ Has #1 and #2 on my fantasy team.

One of my leagues dropped the ball in setting up the draft/etc. We havent had it yet.

I dont know if we'll have it before the conclusion of week 1, but if it's retroactive like fantasy baseball....(its an ESPN league) it's a deep league of 14 teams and like 24 rounds... What round- seriously- would you choose ogletree in, knowing that you'll get 23 points from him for week 1.

I'm thinking round 7, when I would usually be picking up my 3rd WR. But I think I would start getting nervous if i passed him over in round 5.

if it's not retroactive-- screw it, ill pick him up in round 22.

I wouldn't pick him up at all. Chasing last week's career game guy is a great way to waste a pick. So let someone else waste their pick on him, and pick up that #1 or #2 guy they didn't.

He's the guy who burned the backup of a backup...Not really going to put all on him, but considering I have a roster spot open for an RB/WR, I guess I'll try to see how he does.

Yeah, I do the same once we're up and running and hitting bye weeks etc. But the d I have plays weak offenses three weeks running and my receivers suck so 'what the hell' I figured. I mean I have Randy Moss starting this week so he's worthy a flyer. One more TD and I'll start the guy over what I have gladly.

if it was retroactive-- and I had my choice between him, and oh, Greg Little... I think I would choose Ogletree.

if it was not retroactive, I'd probably take Little.

that league has so many teams and rounds-- and its automated, (so I would have to rank the players). usually after the draft is over, many teams have players who are currently free agents.

He's one of three undrafted free agents that were responsible for every Cowboy touchdown last night.

I don't swap Ks around that often, but I do not understand why people grab Ds in the 6th round...you'll do better with a good matchup against a bad team than a good D against a good O.

Just like everyone was asking "Who is Laurant Robinson" last year. Broken down Terry Glenn, TO, Patrick Crayton, Miles Austin, Laurant Robinson, Kevin Ogletree. These guys all come and go, but the constant is that if Romo stays healthy he's going to throw for around 4500 yards and someone's going to be on the receiving end of those yards.

2012-09-06 11:59:52 AM
In my keeper league (10-team, standard), I have Marshall and Bryant as my starters, and Colston, Boldin, and Antonio Brown as my back-ups. (Dez was a disappointment) I don't have room to pick-up Ogletree, and two of the other owners missed the draft, and picked up 8 runningbacks, so I'm sure he's already got a claim in.

2012-09-06 12:01:52 PM
I know I make a point to use waiver picks on a guy who has never produced to a high level before and was going against a really depleted secondary with two main targets coming back from injury and not playing to their usual high levels. That seems sustainable.

2012-09-06 12:04:08 PM
The answer to this question is "the warm body playing slot receiver for Tony Romo".

Although I am happy to see him stepping up. He used to be bad... not that he wasn't athletic, just that he didn't know routes.

2012-09-06 12:04:39 PM
Dropped an extra TE and put in a waiver claim last night.

I believe Laurant Robinson was picked up off the scrap heap last year and had a 858 yard, 11 TD season. Romo makes scrubs put up good fantasy numbers.

The Giants secondary has sucked pretty much every season that I can remember, but that pass rush is still absolutely beastly. Odds are the Cowboys aren't going to face many nickel sets featuring Tuck, Osi and JPP for the rest of the year.
