At least it's a direct-to-DVD sequel, and not one they're trying to push to the theaters.

But seriously Hollywood, LEAVE THE FARKING CLASSICS ALONE!

It's got to be. Those actors look like they're wearing some kind of weird Burger King guy makeup.

Hehe found this on a Yahoo story about it:

Incidentally, it appears "A Christmas Story 2" will be among a final slate of direct-to-DVD offerings from Warner Bros. The powerhouse movie studio -- responsible for theatrical hits including "The Dark Knight Rises," which has earned nearly $835 million worldwide -- is shutting down its business responsible for direct-to-DVD productions, according to the Wrap. The company is citing "a decline in the direct-to-video film market."

Way to go out with a whimper WB.

Don't just shut it down. Take them all out back and shoot them, or they will go somewhere else to defecate on classics.

There's actually some good logic someone suggested for that once, why classics keep getting rebooted instead of new ideas. We have a shorter attention span today, so new movies don't have the same attention they used to get. However, older classics have a built in audience of people, so they are more likely to draw a bigger crowd at less of a risk - even if it sucks like nothing has ever sucked before, people will go watch it out of nostalgia.

Dunno if it's true, but it follows.

Possibly, but more likely, the rights were probably about to revert to someone else, so they made this piece of trash to ensure it didn't happen.

However, I'm fairly certain that the arrival of this movie is the last in the prophecy of Skelos, and the dark lord, Cthulhu, and his star spawn will soon rise to devour the minds of man and once again reign as lord of Earth.

So, when your sense of humor and soul were extracted...was it painful? Or was it more of a gradual thing? Or were you born without either? In which case, do you get to park in the handicap zones?

Technically, The Star Wars Holiday Special is the first sequel to Star Wars and thus the worst sequel ever. No contest.

(Change in medium doesn't disqualify sequel status. See: The Last Days of Patton)

Wait, fark, according to Wiki, there's ALREADY a sequel to A Christmas Story, 1994's My Summer Story/It Runs in the Family.

So this is the THIRD sequel. And there was a PBS tv series?

At least it wasn't as bad as that piece of shiat Goonies movie.

Up until this point I always insisted that Meatballs 3 was the worst movie ever, therefore the worst sequel ever but now I'm wondering, by definition, is the third movie considered a sequel or is there another theatrical term for that.

Either way, what I just witnessed is an abomination.

Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (I liked the first one!)

Its just a pretty boring movie, moves slow, and none of the characters are likable.

For holiday fix, i'd sooner watch Bad Santa, March of the Wooden Soldiers, Nightmare before Christmas, or Scrooged.

Skullgrin: Highlander 2

They never made any highlander sequels.

I bring you Home Alone 3 in the same genre of never should have been released Christmas movies.

In the C. Thomas Howell Memorial Category, I'd like to nominate C. Thomas Howell presents a C. Thomas Howell production starring C. Thomas Howell in War of the Worlds II.

I have to go with Highlander 2 as well. There are too many straight to video sequels to even bother counting them.

Boobie jokes.

That's funny, how you feel about A Christmas Story is how I feel about Scrooged.

Does that mean the end of those DC animated movies? That would be a shame, some of them were quite cool.

The Dark Knight Returns is coming this month, should be badass.

Don't know, after Atlas Shrugged was such a disaster, are they actually going to make part 2? If so, then that. If not, the Star Wars Holiday Special. You're not wrong, though, it'll doubtless be in that general range.

Longest movie in the history of mankind.
