they said that?

2012-09-05 04:44:09 PM
The DNC are lying about how they won't take corporate money because a totally different organization offered advertising space at a street rally.

2012-09-05 04:45:54 PM
If the Dems are going to try GOP strategy (basically, lying their ass off), they better take Rove 101, 102 and Romney 201. They're behind and it shows.

2012-09-05 04:46:25 PM
The headline:

DNC courts corporate donors for convention help

The reality (subheading)

A DNC sister nonprofit offers firms 'sponsorship opportunities' to cover costs of event

[admiringly]

They've got some good marketers and lawyers in the DNC.

2012-09-05 04:50:09 PM
Emmerling said that no corporate money has been used to pay for "official convention" costs as outlined in a contract signed by the Charlotte in 2012 with the Democratic National Committee.

THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!!!

Actually, no, it's not.

The democrats will never lie more than the republicans. They will never suck up to big business more than the republicans, and they will never be more conservative than the republicans. No matter how hard they try. They should find a new strategy.

No no no WE didn't take the money

They took the money and gave it to us. That's a totally different animal right there, yessiree...

Well the DNC didn't technically accept corporate donations for their main events.

Seems a bit shady. But they didn't lie.

/unlike Romney who does so on an hourly basis

It's not even a bit shady. A separate organization raised corporate money for a separate event.

Funny, for a guy who said 'you didn't built that' he sure like to take credit. Iraq, Osama, Afghanistan...etc. Take your pick.

Democrats embarrassed themselves in their 1st night trying to shamelessly take credit for a guy who said "You didn't built that."

the dems are great at this type of work. the didn't take corporate money and Clinton did not have sex with Monica.

"the convention organizers now say they won't release a complete list of the donors to either group until they are required to do under federal election law - next month, long after the convention is over."

That makes sense.

And very transparent

How about instead of the "Lying Your Ass Off And Hoping Nobody Notices" (traditional, obsolete, Conservative) which has become essentially impossible with the advent of the internet, you just don't mention it? Campaign on what you've actually done (and not done), not what you think will make your opponent look bad, but actually just blows up in your face.

You cut off the part that says "so vote Republican"

That part isn't actually necessary. One could simply decide not to soil oneself by voting at all, or focus on local government, where one's vote might actually make a difference. Or bypass the political establishment and just be active for causes and purposes one believes in. You don't even have to be a hippie to do that.

Republicans, at the very least are Honest. Democrats are flat out lying. Evident of a scoundrel.

Why do democrats always bring up the lesser of 2 evils? They admit they are evil but lesser? Laughable.

2012-09-05 05:09:52 PM
DNC, please stop making broad, sweeping claims that can easily be picked apart in the media, like "no corporate money whatsoever." The corporate media is balancing every 50 Republican lies by monkeyhammering one from Democrats, because that's what passes as "being objective" these days.

Yes, because clearly the government had no say in those decisions, and government involvement is not what the context of "You didn't build that" comment was about. Also, Obama isn't the head of executive branch and commander in chief. Finally, you are not an idiot.

I've said this in other threads, but third-party voting really can fark things up royally. In the 2000 election, 97,488 people in Florida voted for Nader, and Bush "won" by 537 votes. If you live in a swing state, your vote is actually important, and you need to step up. If you live in a non-swing state, feel free to do whatever.

He bypass congress in Libya. Bush laid the groundwork to get Osama. The first person Obama called was Bush when they got Osama. And the surge in Afghanistan was tactic he copied from Bush.

No, not really. I'm not on food stamps or collecting unemployment or anything like that. =p

Plus, I was just trying to think of a more colorful and poetic way of comparing the USA to the Roman Empire, and trying to avoid the old, tired "The USA is being overrun by barbarians!" cliche. Because that'd be racist.

Anyway, yeah, I'm not happy about it -- but it seems like America is irrevocably broken.

As long as we continue to allow the right wing to control this country, we are pretty much farked. I'll agree to that point.
