The last company I hated as much as I hate Netflix was Blockbuster. That hatred aside, though, Amazon Prime is just a vastly superior service, and that's not even counting the free shipping perk. It's almost pointless to compare the two. Prime is worth waaaaay more than $79 a year, but don't tell Amazon I said that.

I got Prime for the chuckles last year to try it out. I don't really use the video portion since my Tivo only works with rentals and there's no Android version of AIV. But a few months later I got a 100+ lb generator shipped to me overnight for $4 and it arrived about 12 hours before my power went out for 4 days. That made it completely worth it.
